Abstract

The rampant problem of bullying among middle and high school students has emotional and academic implications. Addressing this issue can create a safer and more supportive school environment, improve academic achievement, and enforce effective policy. This study analyses the prevalence of bullying among junior and senior high school students. Using a descriptive correlational design and multi-stage sampling technique, researchers collected data from 416 high school students: 184 12th graders and 232 13th graders utilizing the data collection method of a questionnaire, and the data collection instrument was a questionnaire sheet with the Adolescent Peer Relations instrument type. Statistical analysis involved frequency count, arithmetic mean, and chi-square test. The results found that there were significant age-related differences in bullying and victimization patterns among the junior and senior high school students studied. The study concludes that bullying and victimization, exceptionally verbal, are significantly present among junior and senior high school students, with marked age-related variations in their frequency and nature. The implications of this study go beyond schools, impacting the wider society and contributing to a broader understanding and prevention of bullying.

Abstract

Many teachers experience decreased motivation and dissatisfaction due to a lack of support from school leaders, which ultimately impacts the quality of teaching and learning. This study analyzes the relationship between teachers' motivation and satisfaction with school leadership using correlational and regression approaches. This study used a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design. Sixty-one primary school teachers participated in this study as respondents, who were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a validated research questionnaire consisting of motivation and satisfaction. The research instrument was subjected to a reliability test with Cronbach's alpha to ensure consistency using the instrument in the form of a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, Spearman rho correlation, chi-square test, ordinary least square (OLS) regression, and logit regression to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. The regression results further showed that increased satisfaction with school leadership predicted higher levels of teacher motivation. It is concluded that improving school leadership practices can significantly contribute to increased teacher motivation, improving teaching quality and overall school performance. Therefore, it is recommended that school leaders receive targeted training to develop leadership skills that can increase teacher satisfaction and motivation.

Abstract

Studying statistics during distance education is challenging due to limitations and communication problems. This has an impact on learning activities that could be more optimal. This research aims to analyze students' SQ3R level in learning statistics and determine its significant predictors. This type of research is quantitative research. The research design of this study is complex correlational research. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques use descriptive and inferential statistics. Secondary data from existing research studies were used and summarized using standard statistical metrics. In addition, ordinal regression analysis was used to determine the predictors of students' SQ3R level in statistics learning and was tested at a standard significance level. Findings reveal that students usually use the SQ3R method to learn statistics during online learning. The statistical model illustrates that students' ability to read and review statistics is shaped by the learning environment, teaching attitudes, physical and emotional health, and free time activities. The study suggests that to improve students' learning of statistics in distance education, educational institutions and professors should create a conducive learning environment, use strategic teaching methods, and emphasize the importance of harmonious study habits due to the SQ3R method.

Abstract

Teachers need help teaching subjects in MTB-MLE and other subjects because the language used is Cebuano. This has an impact on learning activities that could be more optimal. This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by grade 3 students in implementing Cebuano-Visayan teaching and assess the management actions taken by school administrators and teachers. This research uses a descriptive research design. Data was collected using purposive sampling from 17 school administrators, 30 teachers, and 253 students. Data collection methods use observation and questionnaires. The arithmetic mean is used as a statistical tool. The research results show that school administrators often undertake various management actions to facilitate the implementation of Cebuano-Visayan. Speaking and grammar skills were moderately complex, while reading, comprehension, and vocabulary skills were identified as the most challenging for Grade 3 students. This research revealed that effective and adequate management strategies contribute to the learning difficulties encountered in Cebuano teaching Visayan. Despite efforts by school officials and teachers to address this situation, it continues and even worsens. Therefore, school leaders are advised to re-evaluate their school curricula and thoroughly assess the inclusion of the Cebuano-Visayan language in the lower elementary grades (Grades 1-3) to identify actual problems and provide appropriate interventions and practical solutions.

Abstract

Teachers are considered committed to their job if they remain in their profession and accept professional responsibilities. This article aimed to investigate the public teachers' willingness to remain in their jobs and identify some determinants that causally affect it. The study employed a developed research instrument based on an existing research paper in the literature to gather primary data from cross-sectional public teachers. This study used random sampling to select the required participants of the survey and utilized appropriate statistical methods (descriptive and inferential statistics) to summarize and extract information from the data gathered. This study involved five schools as subjects. Some descriptive analysis was utilized such as frequencies and percentages to give a description of the gathered data and extract relevant information. The results showed that female public teachers are more likely to stay in the profession as opposed to male teachers. In addition, employment status and job position are significant factors that influence teachers to stay in their profession. Conclusively, public teachers who are satisfied with their current income and work assignments are more likely economically secure and willing to serve. Hence, the study suggests that the government must support public teachers regarding incentives and benefits, salary increases, and other resources that improve their well-being and productivity, and avoid employee turnover.

Abstract

The pandemic disrupted educational systems globally, prompting the need for alternative learning modalities like online, modular, and blended learning. The SLCP, particularly within the context of a school in Region 8, integrates these modalities to address essential learning competencies. This research paper aimed to evaluate the school Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) through its School Continuity Learning Plan Program using (CIPP) model of evaluation. Employing a qualitative design, data were gathered through purposive interviews with 1 non-teaching personnel, 1 department head, and 3 teachers and an analysis of the approved LCP road-map. Findings revealed comprehensive alignment with the evaluation model domains, though certain areas required revisiting for improvement. The study advocated for the administration's holistic consideration, especially recognizing teachers as front line contributors to the LCP. Their pivotal role in the design and planning phases was emphasized for the effective mechanization of the school LCP. Hence, it was concluded that educational administrators should prioritize collaboration with teachers and consider their perspectives to enhance the overall quality and functionality of the LCP. Moreover, the study recommended organizational consideration, valued teachers in school LCP, prioritized health, integrated modalities, and emphasized quality learning with metrics in LCP.
