Abstract

Background Hypertension is a condition where blood vessels increase constantly (WHO, 2019). Tomato juice therapy is making one of the preparations from tomatoes that contain potassium, lycopene, bioflavonoids to lower blood pressure. The purpose of writing is to obtain real experience in providing tomato juice therapy to families with hypertension. The research method used is descriptive & literature study. Descriptive methods are family case studies and tomato juice therapy and nursing care. The results of the study after the application of tomato juice therapy for 3 days as much as 1 time / day, Mr. H's family, especially Mrs. D with hypertension. H especially Mrs. D with hypertension decreased, initially 169/107 mmHg dropped to 144/93 mmHg. Conclusion The application of tomato juice therapy in families with hypertension was successful. Family knowledge increased, blood pressure decreased from 169/107 mmHg to 144/93 mmHg and the family can take care of family members who have hypertension.
