Abstract

Abstract The correlation between tafsir and ta’wil in the methodology of Qur'anic interpretation aims to understand how these two approaches complement each other in the process of interpreting the verses of the Qur'an. Tafsir generally focuses on the literal and contextual explanation of Qur'anic verses, while ta’wil delves into deeper, esoteric meanings, particularly in ambiguous (mutashabihat) verses. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, this research analyzes classical and contemporary exegesis to identify how scholars across different eras combine these approaches. The findings reveal that the correlation between tafsir and ta’wil enriches the overall understanding of the Qur'an. Classical scholars tend to separate tafsir and ta’wil methodologically, whereas contemporary scholars often integrate both approaches to address modern challenges, such as social change and interpretative pluralism. This study emphasizes the importance of synergy between tafsir and ta’wil in developing a more comprehensive and relevant method of Qur'anic interpretation in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Islamic worldview is a conceptual framework that plays an important role as a theoretical and applicative solution in understanding the dynamics of thinking of da'wah institutions. This article discusses how the Islamic worldview becomes a solid ideological foundation as well as practical guidelines for da'wah institutions in facing various contemporary challenges, such as modernization, secularization, religious pluralism, and information globalization. By using the principles of tawhid, the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, and the values of sharia as the main footing, the Islamic worldview allows the development of adaptive da'wah theories that remain consistent with the essence of religious teachings. In addition, this worldview also directs da'wah communication strategies to be more effective through innovations in methods and media for delivering messages without compromising religious integrity. This study confirms that the application of Islamic worldview not only strengthens the religious identity of da'wah institutions but also increases their relevance and impact in the midst of socio-cultural changes of the people. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the Islamic worldview is needed to build a new paradigm in the development of da'wah thoughts and practices that are responsive to the needs of the times.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) in promoting Islamic philanthropic da’wah, particularly through the distribution of waqf as a strategy for empowering the Muslim community’s economy in Indonesia. Waqf, as one of the core instruments of Islamic philanthropy, has substantial potential to reduce social inequality and improve community welfare. However, low public literacy about waqf, the lack of professionalism among waqf managers (nazhir), and limited use of digital technology remain key challenges. Using a qualitative approach through literature studies, observation, and document analysis, the study finds that BWI has implemented a transformative da’wah strategy by optimizing cross-sector collaboration, digital technology utilization, and community education. The results reveal that BWI's collaboration with Islamic financial institutions, government ministries, and civil society organizations has enhanced public engagement and the distribution of cash waqf, productive waqf, and waqf-based MSME programs. Moreover, the use of social media, mobile applications, and the waqf information system has expanded outreach and improved management transparency. This study concludes that the integration of da’wah, technology, and collaboration is essential in strengthening waqf as a viable tool for Islamic economic development. Moving forward, regulatory reform, comprehensive digitalization, and local community empowerment must become strategic priorities to sustain the national Islamic philanthropic ecosystem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji dinamika Persatuan Islam (Persis) sebagai gerakan sosial-keagamaan modernis yang bertahan lebih dari satu abad melalui dialektika antara resistensi dan adaptasi. Dari aspek teologis, resistensi Persis diwujudkan melalui kritik terhadap praktik keagamaan tradisional seperti tahlilan dan ziarah kubur berlebihan yang dianggap menyimpang dari prinsip tauhid murni. Pada ranah sosial-politik, Persis menunjukkan sikap kritis terhadap kebijakan kolonial maupun negara yang dipandang mengancam kebebasan beragama dan nilai keadilan sosial. Sementara itu, bentuk adaptasi Persis tampak dalam pendirian lembaga pendidikan modern yang mengintegrasikan ilmu agama dan umum, pemanfaatan media cetak maupun digital sebagai instrumen dakwah, serta keterbukaan terhadap isu-isu global kontemporer seperti demokrasi, hak asasi manusia, gender, lingkungan hidup, dan pembangunan berkelanjutan dengan kerangka maqasid al-shari‘ah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa resistensi berfungsi menjaga prinsip purifikatif Persis, sedangkan adaptasi berperan memastikan relevansi dakwah dalam konteks sosial yang terus berubah. Dengan sinergi keduanya, Persis mampu mempertahankan eksistensinya sebagai gerakan Islam modernis yang konsisten pada misi purifikasi, sekaligus responsif terhadap tantangan zaman. Kata Kunci: Persatuan Islam, resistensi, adaptasi, purifikasi, gerakan sosial, maqasid al-shari‘ah.

Abstract

Era disrupsi ditandai oleh kemajuan teknologi digital, globalisasi informasi, dan perubahan sosial yang cepat. Kondisi ini menghadirkan tantangan sekaligus peluang bagi lembaga dakwah untuk memperluas perannya dalam pemberdayaan umat. Dakwah tidak lagi terbatas pada penyampaian pesan spiritual, tetapi juga mencakup inovasi sosial dan pengembangan kewirausahaan Islami. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi literatur dari jurnal-jurnal terindeks Sinta untuk menganalisis strategi lembaga dakwah menghadapi era disrupsi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga dakwah berpotensi mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam dalam model kewirausahaan sosial, pemanfaatan teknologi digital, serta kolaborasi lintas sektor. Inovasi seperti dakwah digital dan ekonomi komunitas terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas dan kemandirian lembaga. Keberhasilan dakwah kontemporer ditentukan oleh kemampuan adaptasi, inovasi, dan kolaborasi yang berorientasi pada kemaslahatan umat. Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed Islamic preaching in Indonesia from a conventional activity into a dynamic and participatory practice within the digital sphere. This study aims to analyze the strategies of Shift Pemuda Hijrah in building and managing an active and productive digital-based da’wah community. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through content analysis of social media and documentation of community activities, this research identifies three key strategies underlying Shift’s success: personal branding, emotional narrative, and multiplatform optimization. Strong personal branding creates an authentic and relatable image of preachers among urban youth. Emotional narratives emphasizing spiritual experiences and affective connections strengthen emotional bonds between preachers and audiences. Meanwhile, multiplatform strategies enable broader outreach to diverse audience segments through adaptive content formats. The findings demonstrate that the combination of these three strategies forms a model of digital community-based da’wah that enhances participation, interaction, and sustainability of Islamic propagation in the digital age. This study contributes theoretically to the development of digital da’wah literacy and offers practical insights for Islamic organizations in managing online communities effectively and sustainably.
