Abstract

Regional development planning is a process carried out to determine future regional policies, through a series of options, involving various elements of stakeholders, in order to utilize and allocate resources owned by the region in a certain period of time. The 2010 Population Census noted that there were 30 ethnic groups inhabiting Jambi Province, of which 44% were from Jambi. The tribes from Jambi include the Jambi, Kerinci, Anak Dalam / Orang Rimbo, Batin / Orang Dalam, and Kubu lalan tribes.Residents, apart from being the object and subject of development, can be the basic capital in development, but they can also become obstacles or obstacles in achieving development goals. This will occur if population growth is not controlled and is not balanced with the fulfillment of needs such as clothing, food, and the need for education and health. The employment condition of Jambi Province shows a declining trend although it is not significant. There were 1,765.75 thousand people in the workforce, while around 1,691.78 people worked and 73.96 thousand people were unemployed. This shows that the unemployment rate in Jambi Province is relatively low.

Abstract

Community service is a concrete form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which emphasizes not only education and research but also direct contributions to society. Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Dewantara (ITB) Cibinong conducted a community service program in Kampung Situpete, Sukadamai Village, Tanah Sareal District, Bogor City, with the theme of community empowerment through Fish Cultivation in Buckets (Budikdamber). This activity aimed to provide practical knowledge for utilizing limited space to raise fish and grow vegetables, thereby supporting household food security and creating opportunities for economic improvement. The methods applied included lectures, interactive discussions, and direct hands-on training, making it easier for participants to understand and apply the knowledge. The program received positive responses from the community, especially Karang Taruna Damai Mekar, and gained appreciation from local leaders.

Abstract

Class imbalance is a classic yet critical challenge in credit risk modeling, where the number of creditworthy applicants significantly outweighs those at risk of default. Standard classification models often become biased toward the majority class, resulting in deceptively high accuracy while failing to effectively detect actual default risk. This study proposes a Cost-Sensitive Learning approach combined with a Threshold Moving strategy applied to the Random Forest algorithm to minimize False Approvals (representing the greatest financial risk). Using the CRISP-DM methodology, we compare the performance of a baseline model with an optimized model based on an asymmetric cost matrix (cost ratio of 10:1 between False Positive and False Negative). Experimental results demonstrate that adjusting the decision threshold from 0.5 to 0.6 successfully eliminates all False Approvals without significantly compromising overall accuracy (remaining at 98%). Further financial simulation indicates that the cost-sensitive model can improve estimated profitability by up to 25% compared to the standard model. These findings highlight that cost-based evaluation metrics are more relevant for strategic business decision-making than mere statistical accuracy.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to optimize family empowerment in Sasak Panjang Village through the cultivation of backyard fruit plants to enhance household economic resilience. The program was designed with a participatory approach integrating fruit plant cultivation, healthy yard management, and the strengthening of family financial literacy. The activity stages included an initial survey, community discussions, avocado cultivation training, dissemination of productive yard management, and education on financial recording and utilization of harvest yields. Evaluation results showed increased cultivation skills, awareness of yard management, and families’ ability to manage finances independently. This integrated approach has proven capable of encouraging the utilization of yards as a sustainable source of additional income.
