Abstract

The Salafiyah movement is part of the reformist movement in Islam which operates in the field of purifying Islamic teachings based on the Koran and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. In accordance with what was done by the previous generation (Salafus saleh). In Kerinci the Salafi movement exists in a social context that has its own characteristics. The aim of this research was to look at the development and theological roots of Salafiyah as well as the social impact in Kerinci. formulation of the problem in this research: 1). What are the dynamics of the development of the Salafiyah movement in Kerinci. 2). How Salafi theological thought is explained in detail. 3) What is the social impact. This research method uses a qualitative method with a field study and literature approach. The results of the research explain that the Salafiyah movement entered Kerinci in the 18th century, brought by traders and ulama from Minang Kabau and ulama from Kerinci. The development of the Salafi movement was more rapid after the reformation. While the theological roots of Salafiah are focused on purifying Islamic teachings, inviting people to return to the sources of Islamic teachings, the Koran and Hadith, elements of superstition, heresy and Khurafat in worship are not permitted. [Gerakan salafiyah merupakan bagian dari gerakan reformis dalam Islam yang bergerak dibidang pemurnian ajaran Islam yang bersumber Al-Qur’an dan Hadist Nabi Muhammad Saw. Sesuai dengan yang dilakukan oleh senerasi terdahulu (Salafus saleh). Di Kerinci gerakan Salafiah hadir dalam konteks sosial kemasyarakatan yang mempunyai krakteristik tersendiri. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk melihat perkembangan dan akar teolologis salafiyah serta dampak sosial di Kerinci. rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini: 1). Bagaimana dinamika perkembangan gerakan Salafiyah di Kerinci. 2). Bagaimana pemikiran teologis Salafiah di kerinci. 3) Bagaimana dampak sosial. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan, metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi lapangan dan kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian menjelaskan aliran Salafiyah masuk di Kerinci pada abad ke 18 yang dibawa oleh pedagang dan para ulama dari Minang Kabau serta ulama dari Kerinci. Perkembangan gerakan Salafiah lebih pesatnya pasca repormasi. Sedangkan akar teologis Salafiah terfokus pada pemurnian ajaran Islam mengajak masyarakat kembali kepada sumber ajaran Islam al-Qur’an dan hadis, tidak dibenarkan adanya unsur takhayul, bid’ah dan Khurafat dalam ibadah].

Abstract

This paper discusses the dzikir of the tarekat: The path to peace of mind through the seven Naqsyabandiyah lathifah in Kerinci. The purpose of this study was to see the impact of dzikir lathifah on the soul of someone who practices it. The formulation of the problem in this study: 1). How to practice the dzikir of the seven Naqsyabandiyah lathifah in Kerinci 2). How does dzikir of the tarekat lead to peace of mind. This scientific paper uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive analytical method, a research method that aims to describe and analyze the data that has been collected. The results of the study explain that these seven latifah were first introduced by Sheikh Ahmad Naqsyabandi, a Sufi in the 11th century. According to the understanding of the Naqsyabandiyah tarekat in the human body there are seven places (latifah) as the residence of lust which must be cleaned by dzikir as much as 70,000 times by mentioning the asma. Before practicing the practice of dzikir latifah, a student must first perform a bai'at suluk. After that, practice the Naqsyabandiyah latifah dzikir, namely: Lathifah Qalbi, Lathifah This Ruh, Lathifah Sirr, Lathifah Khafi, Lathifah akhfa, Latifatun nafsun natiqah and Latifah kullu jasad. Latifah dzikir has a very extraordinary impact on life, especially for peace of mind.

Abstract

Sheikh H. Mukhtar was a prominent Muslim scholar from Kerinci whose religious thought influenced Islamic communities in Kerinci, Malaysia, and the surrounding regions. As a leading figure in Islamic daʿwah, he played an important role in strengthening religious life, particularly in the domain of faith . This study employs qualitative research using a library research approach complemented by field research to examine the religious thought of Sheikh H. Mukhtar and its influence on contemporary religious practices in Kerinci. The research results show in theological matters, K.H. Mukhtar emphasized the purification of Islamic belief from superstition, bidʿah, and shirk, while firmly grounding faith in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. His understanding of iman, Islam, and tawḥid reflects the theological orientation of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, with a clear tendency toward the Ashʿari tradition. Faith, according to K.H. Mukhtar, is not merely inner belief but must be affirmed verbally and manifested through righteous practice in accordance with divine guidance and the attributes of Allah. This perspective demonstrates his contribution to shaping a balanced and orthodox understanding of Islamic faith within the Kerinci Muslim community. Syekh H. Mukhtar adalah seorang ulama Muslim terkemuka dari Kerinci yang pemikiran keagamaannya memengaruhi komunitas Islam di Kerinci, Malaysia, dan wilayah sekitarnya. Sebagai tokoh terkemuka dalam dakwah Islam, beliau memainkan peran penting dalam memperkuat kehidupan keagamaan, khususnya dalam bidang iman. Studi ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan yang dilengkapi dengan penelitian lapangan untuk mengkaji pemikiran keagamaan Syekh H. Mukhtar dan pengaruhnya terhadap praktik keagamaan kontemporer di Kerinci. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan dalam hal teologi, K.H. Mukhtar menekankan pemurnian keyakinan Islam dari takhayul, bid'ah, dan syirik, sambil tetap berlandaskan pada ajaran Al-Qur'an dan Sunnah. Pemahamannya tentang iman, Islam, dan tauhid mencerminkan orientasi teologis Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, dengan kecenderungan yang jelas terhadap tradisi Asy'ari. Menurut K.H. Mukhtar, iman bukanlah sekadar keyakinan batin tetapi harus ditegaskan secara lisan dan diwujudkan melalui praktik yang benar sesuai dengan petunjuk ilahi dan sifat-sifat Allah. Perspektif ini menunjukkan kontribusinya dalam membentuk pemahaman yang seimbang dan ortodoks tentang iman Islam dalam komunitas Muslim Kerinci.
