Abstract

The culture that develops in society can be used as material for mathematics learning in elementary schools. This scientific paper was written using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology. SLR is a method for identifying, reviewing, and summarizing multiple studies on a specific topic. The reviewed articles include a total of 210 articles on ethnomathematics in elementary school mathematics education, collected from the Perpusnas database, Publish or Perish, Google Scholar, and Scopus over the past 10 years. For the SLR, 4 articles were used. The results of the literature review indicate that ethnomathematics is a discipline that can be applied in mathematics education in elementary schools. This is evidenced by research showing that ethnic mathematics can improve students' skills in the learning process, especially for children in elementary schools. Many cultural variations can be represented in ethnomathematics, such as traditional games, building structures, cuisine, and traditional activities found in villages. By integrating ethnomathematics into mathematics education in elementary schools, it is hoped that students can develop a deeper understanding of mathematics, strengthen their cultural identity, and appreciate cultural diversity.Keywords. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the HOTS ability of elementary school students to solve science questions. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 7 class VI students at SDN 2 Ngepoh for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection methods were carried out through written tests, documentation, and interviews. The analysis technique used is the Miles & Huberman analysis method. The results showed that Of all 7 class VI  students, there was 1 student who had low ability and was unable to solve HOTS questions on all indicators, 3 students were able to solve HOTS questions on the  evaluating (C5), and 3 students were able to solve HOTS questions on the creating (C6) indicators. This research concludes that the HOTS ability of elementary school students to solve science questions is still low, this is because students are less able to understand concepts so that students have difficulty in solving the problems presented and there is a lack of practice in solving HOTS questions. This research implies the need to improve conceptual understanding and familiarization with HOTS questions in science learning to develop high-level thinking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

Research on the profile of scientific literacy was conducted on grade IV students at SDN Kademangan 05, Blitar Regency.  The approach taken is descriptive qualitative. Data collection methods using interviews and observation. Data analysis with triangulation and member checking. The research results show that the Science Literacy Profile at SDN Kademangan 05 Blitar Regency based on the science literacy component has three aspects and eight indicators of achievement.  First, the aspect of identifying scientific issues: with indicators that students can do, such as students starting to be able to recognize issues that can be investigated scientifically, students starting to be able to identify keywords to search for scientific information, students starting to be able to mention the steps of scientific investigation; Second, the aspect of explaining phenomena scientifically, with indicators that students can do. Students begin to be able to apply scientific knowledge. Students begin to be able to provide explanations related to scientific phenomena. Third, the aspect of using scientific evidence, with indicators that students can use. Students begin to be able to draw conclusions based on the interpretation of the data presented. Students begin to be able to identify long-term consequences related to the development of science. The limitations of this research only look at it with a qualitative approach so that in the future research is needed to quantitatively evaluate the literacy skills of students at SDN Kademangan 05 Blitar Regency.
