Abstract

This study is categorized as library research, focusing on the methodologies employed by Muhammadiyah in determining the authenticity of hadiths. The research adopts a descriptive-analytic method, which involves identifying, analyzing, and clarifying issues to systematically and accurately depict the characteristics of the problem at hand. The findings reveal that Muhammadiyah utilizes the tarjih method. Tarjih refers to the process of preferring one of two conflicting hadiths that cannot be reconciled and designating the other as marjuh, based on specific reasons for tarjih. In the application of tarjih, Muhammadiyah has established 11 fundamental concepts for determining the authenticity of a hadith. This method involves a meticulous examination of both the matan (content) and the sanad (chain of narration). Furthermore, to address conflicts between hadiths, Muhammadiyah has developed resolution principles using the ta'arud al-adillah method. This methodological framework ensures a comprehensive and systematic approach to validating hadiths, emphasizing the importance of contextual and textual integrity. Through these rigorous processes, Muhammadiyah aims to provide a balanced and credible interpretation of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of Multicultural Education in developing Islamic education Teaching Materials towards Students' Attitudes of Tolerance. The research method used is research in the form of a library study as a step in solving a problem by carefully and intensely reviewing relevant library data. The sources of library data in question are books, scientific articles and journals. The approach is descriptive qualitative, where the use of data is taken qualitatively and described or explained descriptively. Data processing to produce information is obtained through several processes including the process of searching for data, the process of collecting data, the process of processing/analyzing data, and the process of concluding data. The research results found that Islamic education learning through multicultural education ensures that students are not only able to understand and master the subject matter they study. In this case, what a teacher needs to do is form a Islamic education learning pattern through activities in the classroom; be universal and not discriminate between students; and inserting tolerance values in teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of social media use on the moral behavior of high school students in Banda Aceh. Social media has become an integral part of teenagers' lives and has a significant influence on their mindset, attitudes, and social interactions. Although it can be a means of learning and self-expression, excessive use of social media without supervision can have a negative impact on students' moral and spiritual development. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to a number of high school students in the Banda Aceh area. The data obtained were analyzed using a simple linear regression test to determine the relationship between the intensity of social media use and students' moral behavior. The results of the study show a significant relationship between the two variables, where the higher the intensity of social media use, the lower the level of politeness, responsibility, and empathy among students. However, this study also found that social media can have a positive impact if used in an educational and creative manner. Therefore, effective supervision and guidance from parents are needed, as well as the role of schools in instilling digital literacy and character education so that social media becomes a means of positive moral formation.

Abstract

This study examines the term 'Ameen' in the Qur'an and its relevance in the context of the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections in Indonesia, where there are symptoms of politicization of religious symbols in the public sphere. The word 'Amen', which is traditionally interpreted as an affirmation of prayer in the worship practice of Muslims, has expanded its meaning  from a spiritual function to a political symbol used as an acronym for a certain pair of candidates. This study employs a qualitative approach using critical discourse analysis with the method of critical discourse analysis to explore the theological meaning and symbolic transformation of the term 'Amen'. Data was obtained through the study of classical and contemporary interpretations, hadiths, campaign documentation, and digital narratives on social media. The results of the study show that the use of 'Amen' in politics tends to reduce the sacred meaning to rhetoric, creating ambiguity between religious expression and political support. This phenomenon has a social impact in the form of polarization, segmentation, and exclusion in Muslim society. By combining symbolic political theory and maqāṣid al-syarī'ah, this study emphasizes the need for a critical awareness of the use of religious symbols in politics so that the sanctity of Islamic texts is not reduced to a pragmatic tool of power.
