Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of insurance in subsidized housing financing products at PT Bank Sumut Unit Usaha Syariah. The need for adequate and affordable housing is one of the basic needs that must be met, and the Indonesian government strives to increase access to homeownership for low-income communities through various housing subsidy programs. An important instrument in subsidized housing financing is the role of financial institutions, including Islamic banks, which provide financing products according to sharia principles. PT Bank Sumut Unit Usaha Syariah offers subsidized housing financing products designed to help low-income communities own homes easily and in accordance with sharia financial principles. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with product managers, insurance staff, and customers, as well as observations at the research location and analysis of related documents. The results indicate that insurance in subsidized housing financing products provides protection against credit risk and financial losses for both the bank and customers, increases customer trust, and facilitates the financing process. However, challenges remain, such as customers' low understanding of the benefits of insurance and the perception that the claims process is complicated.

Abstract

Indonesia faces significant challenges in achieving sustainable development, amidst increasing air pollution, social inequality, and the need to improve public welfare. In efforts to optimize Islamic Financial Development (IFD) as an instrument to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this study aims to explore its impact on Environmental Quality (EQ), Economic Growth (GDP), and Population (POP) across all provinces in Indonesia. Using the Panel Vector Error Correction Model (PVECM), the study finds that IFD has a negative effect on air quality (EQ), although this impact is not significant in both the short and long term. On the other hand, economic growth (GDP) shows a significant negative impact on environmental quality, with an increase in GDP contributing to a reduction in air pollution. Meanwhile, population (POP) has a significant negative impact on environmental quality, meaning that although an increase in population may worsen air quality, proper environmental policies can mitigate its negative effects. The findings of this study suggest that the integration of the Islamic finance sector with effective environmental policies is crucial for accelerating the achievement of SDGs in Indonesia, with attention to the specific characteristics of different regions.

Abstract

Islamic Economic Thought during the Khulafaurrasyidin period. The method used is library research using several books as a source of writing. In the beginning, Islamic economics was practiced by Rasulullah SAW in trade activities and also in implementing the fiscal and monetary policies of the Islamic State. After Rasulullah SAW died, the leadership of the Islamic State and also the management of the economy were then continued by Khulafaurrasyidin. The economy during the time of Abu Bakar Ash Shidiq was colored by the rebellion of apostates who were not willing to pay zakat. During the time of Umar bin Khattab, the treasures of the baitul mal were left for reserve funds. At the end of Uthman bin Affan's reign, there was political turmoil due to allegations of corrupt officials. In the era of Ali bin Abi Talib, the Islamic State minted coins on behalf of the Islamic State.
