Abstract

The setting of the exsposure is one of the important factors in producing high-quality dawn images. The ISO and shutter speed settings on Android phones have provided significant support for astrophotography, especially in dawn imagery. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in ISO values (800, 1600, and Auto) and shutter speed (8 seconds, 10 seconds, and Auto) on the quality of dawn images through comparison. This study is a comparative quantitative study that aims to measure the influence of independent variables, namely ISO values and shutter speed, on dependent variables, namely the quality of dawn imagery in astrophotography. Data analysis was carried out using AstroimageJ software to measure the effect of ISO value setting and shutter speed on dawn image quality. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the ISO and shutter speed value settings have a significant influence on the quality of dawn images. then ISO and shutter speed settings in Auto mode are more ideally used, because this mode can adjust to the existing lighting conditions.

Abstract

Facing the Qibla is one of the prerequisites for valid prayer. The methods of determining the Qibla direction have been extensively explored, ranging from simple methods to using highly advanced technology. The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which is currently evolving, is designed to address various issues, including the Qibla direction. One of the evolving models is Natural Language Processing (NLP), which enables computers to understand human natural language. Even when given questions about the Qibla direction of a place, AI can respond with the azimuth value according to the desired city input by the user. The aim of this paper is to examine how the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in determining the Qibla direction, and to determine the accuracy of the Qibla direction produced by Artificial Intelligence. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with an experimental approach, which is used to investigate the influence of certain treatments on others under controlled conditions. In this case, primary data sources are taken from artificial intelligence given keywords (prompts) to obtain the Qibla direction of a city. Then, the results of the Qibla direction from the artificial intelligence machine (AI) are analyzed based on fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and astronomical principles. The results of this study indicate that there is artificial intelligence that produces accurate calculations of the direction of the Qibla, namely ChatGPT, while others are still not completely accurate because the answers produced by the artificial intelligence have not applied mathematical principles in their calculations so that they cannot be relied on as a guideline in determining the direction of the Qibla. Therefore, further development is needed in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in determining the direction of the Qibla.

Abstract

Differences in determining the beginning of Qamariyah months-especially Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhu al-Hijjah-often lead to socio-religious dynamics in Indonesia. This phenomenon reflects the tension between hisab (astronomical calculation) and rukyat (direct observation), each rooted in distinct theological and epistemological traditions within Islam. This paper aims to explore how the differences between the hisab and rukyat methods can be socially interpreted as a reflection of religious tolerance in the framework of Pancasila ideology. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research and social interpretation analysis of normative texts and social practices. The findings indicate that variations in determining the start of the lunar month should not be seen as a source of conflict but rather as a space for dialogue and respect for religious diversity. Within the context of Pancasila-particularly the third and fifth principles-tolerance toward differing religious interpretations serves as a crucial foundation for social harmony and national integration. Thus, the hisab-rukyat methods possess not only astronomical and religious dimensions but also socio-political values that support cohesion in a pluralistic society.
