Abstract

One alternative that can be done to minimize the increase in plastic waste is to recycle the waste into valuable goods or objects such as trash cans. By utilizing waste from plastic bottles into trash cans, little by little we can reduce the amount of waste, especially plastic bottles, and improve the quality of cleanliness of the surrounding environment. The type of method used in this activity is direct observation which is combined in the form of a system of action or service. This activity was carried out at UPTD SD Inpres Wewaru, Aimere sub-district, starting on October 15 and ending on November 5 2023. This form of service consists of several stages including the planning stage, preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The results of this service show that not all waste has a bad impact on society, there is some waste that has a positive impact. This happens if waste is used for things that are beneficial to society.

Abstract

Sampah plastik merupakan jenis sampah yang tidak mudah terurai dan tidak ramah lingkungan. Sampah plastik menjadi masalah utama bagi masyarakat desa Woloede khususnya di lingkungan sekolah dikarenakan kurangnya penanganan masyarakat terhadap sampah yang ada. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini untuk mengurangi dan menanggulangi sampah plastik di lingkungan SDK Majamere. Sasaran dari kegiatan pendampingan ini yaitu siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI dengan jumlah 40 orang. Pendampingan ini dilakukan selama dua minggu yang bertempat di desa Woloede khususnya di SDK Majamere. Sebelum mendaur ulang (Recycle) sampah plastik tim abdimas memberikan pengetahuan dasar kepada siswa tentang sampah dan kolase. Kegiatan ini melalui tiga tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil angket kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan kolase yang memberikan pernyataan setuju sebanyak 45%, penyataan kurang setuju sebanyak 10%, penyataan sangat setuju sebanyak 30%, serta pernyataan tidak setuju 10% dan sangat tidak setuju sebanyak 5%. Hasil dari kegiatan pendampingan menumbuhkan rasa peduli siswa terhadap lingkungan dan terciptanya kreativitas siswa untuk mendaur ulang sampah.

Abstract

The Kemendikbud School Literacy Movement Program defines literacy skills as the ability to access, understand, and use something intelligently through various activities, one of which is reading. The effort made is to create a reading habit in students. The government, through related agencies and various nongovernmental organizations, is trying to organize programs aimed at fostering a culture of reading, for example by setting up mobile libraries, reading gardens and reading corners. Just like schools in general, SDN 71 Maccini also has classrooms and displays that can make students comfortable during the learning process, but there is no special room in the classroom that will attract students to read. For this reason, a reading corner was held in each classroom to become a means for students to increase their reading interest.
