Abstract

The growth and produce of red lettuce are influenced by plant growth factors such as the availability of nutrients and water content in planting medium. This study aims to determine the growth and produce of red lettuce by using liquid organic fertilizer and watering intervals. This research employed Randomized Block Design (RBD) Factorial consisting of 12 combinations of treatments and                          3 replications with the first factor tested was liquid organic fertilizer consisting of 4 levels namely: without organic liquid fertilizer; Liquid organic fertilizer from tofu pulp; liquid organic from chicken manure; and liquid organic fertilizer from lamtoro leaf. The second factor was the interval of watering: interval 1, 2, and 3 days. The parameters observed were plant height, leaf chlorophyll, wet weight, and dry weight. The results showed that the organic fertilizer treatment of tofu dregs gave the best result of plant height at 2 weeks after planting (WAP) (14.71 cm), 3 WAP (18.19 cm), 4 WAP (23.11 cm), leaf chlorophyll (21.89 mg l-1), wet weight (0.175 g), and dry weight (0.037 g).  The treatment of once a day watering interval gave the best result of plant height 2 WAP (15.04 cm), 3 WAP (18.73 cm), 4 WAP (24.17 cm), leaf chlorophyll (20.68 mg l-1), Wet weight (0.183 g), dry weight (0.0038 g), while watering interval once every 3 days gave the highest water efficiency (0.026), and the treatment of liquid organic fertilizer of tofu and once a day watering interval gave the highest wet weight (0.189 g).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan bibit cendana pada perlakuan kombinasi konsentrasi dengan interval pemberian hormon Grow Quick R. Penelitian telah dilakukan di Desa Oebelo, Kecamatan Kupang Tengah, Kabupaten Kupang, yang berlangsung dari bulan Februari - Agustus 2011. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal. Faktor yang dicoba adalah kombinasi konsentrasi dengan interval pemberian hormon Quick R (R) terdiri dari 12 taraf yaitu R1 3 ml/L aplikasi 1 minggu sekali, R2 3ml/L aplikasi 2 minggu sekali,R3 3ml/L aplikasi 3 minggu sekali, R4 3 ml/L aplikasi 4 minggu sekali, R5 6 ml/L aplikasi 1 minggu sekali, R6 6 ml/L aplikasi 2 minggu sekali, R7 6 ml/L 3 minggu sekali, R8 6 ml/L 4 minggu sekali, R9 9 ml/L pemberian 1 minggu sekali,R 10 9 ml/L aplikasi 2 minggu sekali, R11 9 m/L aplikasi 3 minggu sekali, R12 9 ml/L aplikasi 4 minggu sekali. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian hormon Grow Quick R 9 ml/4 minggu sekali memberikan hasil bibit cendana paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainya. Tinggi tanaman (30 HST 16,60 cm; 60 HST 20,10cm; 90 HST 25,66 cm; dan 120 HST 39,66 cm), jumlah daun (30 HST 8,80 helai; 60 HST 14,20 helai; 90 HST 18,00 helai; dan 120 HST 22,60 (helai), diameter batang (30 HST 0,20 cm; 60 HST 0,22 cm; 90 HST 0,26 cm; dan 120 HST 0,30 cm), dan bobot kering tanaman (5,92 g) Disarankan menggunakan perlakuan kombenasi konsentrasi 9 m/l dan interval pemberian Hormon Growt Quick R 4 minggu sekali (R12) untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit cendana.
