Abstract

The right issue policy is carried out by companies that have gone public. It usually aims to expand its business by increasing the capital obtained from old investors through Pre-emptive Rights. This study aims to test and find out how the difference in stock performance at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) before and after the right issue corporate action. This study uses secondary data sourced from various existing writings and publications such as those used in this study, namely retrieval of historical stock price data through the official website bankbsi.co.id owned by Bank Syariah Indonesia, and historical data on the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) through the investing.com page. The sampling method used in this study was purposive sampling. Samples in this study were taken from stock prices for 5 (five) months before and after the right issue event in December 2022. The results of this study indicate that the right issue has no significant effect on stock performance when viewed from stock returns. However, the right issue has a significant influence when viewed from the abnormal stock return. Suggestions for further research can increase the observation time of the right issue event and the use of different abnormal stock return analysis models such as the market model or market adjusted model.

Abstract

Research development in Islamic corporate governance is way behind the conventional counterpart. This is a call to Muslim scholars to put more attention and effort into the development of Islamic corporate governance through research. This paper aims to be a stimulus in this agenda by developing a research mapping in Islamic corporate governance literature especially within Islamic financial institutions. By employing the bibliometric method, this paper is expected to provide an overview related to the journey of Islamic corporate governance research and future research directions by reviewing 295 articles related to Islamic corporate governance in the Scopus database. The studies used as objects of this research are articles, reviews, and conference papers indexed by the Scopus database and are written in English only, assuming that these articles can represent high-quality research in the field of Islamic corporate governance. Most of the analyzed research was conducted within the scope of Islamic banking, thus, there is a huge demand to do research beyond Islamic banking area such as Islamic insurance and Islamic microfinance. This research will make it easier for researchers to get a comprehensive picture regarding the development of literature in the field of Islamic corporate governance in all Islamic financial institutions.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the influence of insurance literacy and promotion on millennials’ interest in Islamic insurance, with trust as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and the SEM-PLS method, data were collected from 162 millennial respondents in Jabodetabek. The findings show that insurance literacy and promotion simultaneously and significantly affect trust. Individually, both also have significant effects, indicating that understanding and effective promotion strategies foster trust in Islamic insurance products. Furthermore, literacy, promotion, and trust both simultaneously and individually significantly influence interest, highlighting the role of knowledge, marketing communication, and confidence in increasing millennial interest in Islamic insurance. The indirect effect analysis reveals that trust significantly mediates the relationship between promotion and interest, but not between literacy and interest. Thus, promotion plays a crucial role in influencing interest both directly and through trust. These findings suggest that Islamic insurance companies should develop educational and trust-building promotional strategies to enhance millennial engagement with sharia-compliant insurance products.
