ABSTRAKPendahuluan: Pemakaian gigi tiruan setiap hari membutuhkan pembersihan dengan menggunakan beberapa metode. Metode pembersihan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode kimiawi dengan cara perendaman dalam bahan pembersih gigi tiruan larutan ekstrak pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perendaman basis gigi tiruan nilon termoplastik dalam larutan ekstrak pandan wangi dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50% dan 75% terhadap stabilitas warna selama 61 jam. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian laboratorium dengan ukuran nilon 20x3 mm berdasarkan ISO 1567. Total sampel sebanyak 24 sampel dibagi 4 kelompok, yaitu kelompok A direndam dalam akuades, dan kelompok B,C,D larutan ekstrak pandan wangi dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50% dan 75% direndam selama 61 jam. Rumus besar sampel menggunakan rumus Federer, kemudian uji stabilitas warna menggunakan alat colorimeter CS-10, lalu lihat hasil jika ΔE<3,5 dianggap masih dapat diterima secara klinis, jika ΔE>3,5 menunjukkan perubahan warna dapat terlihat secara kasat mata dan tidak dapat diterima secara klinis. Hasil: Hasil rerata uji stabilitas warna didapati hanya konsentrasi 25% yang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif bahan pembersih gigi tiruan dengan nilai 3,04±0,51 yang menyatakan kelompok 25% mencapai nilai ΔE<3,5. Berdasarkan hasil uji one-way ANOVA didapatkan nilai p=0,0001 sehingga dinyatakan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara perendaman nilon pada kelompok konsentrasi dengan stabilitas warna. Simpulan: Penggunaan larutan ekstrak pandan wangi sebagai pembersih gigi tiruan dapat memengaruhi stabilitas warna, namun hanya konsentrasi 25% yang masih dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembersih, karena masih berada dalam rentang nilai yang dapat diterima secara klinis.KATA KUNCI: Larutan ekstrak pandan wangi, nilon termoplastik, stabilitas warna.Immersion effect of thermoplastic nylon denture base material in pandan wangi extract solution (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) as a cleaner on color stability: experimental study ABSTRACT Introduction: Wearing dentures every day must be cleaned using several methods. The cleaning method used in this research was a chemical method by immersing the nylon material in the denture cleaning material with pandan wangi extract solution (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.). The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of immersion thermoplastic nylon in pandan wangi extract solution as a cleaner on color stability with concentrations of 25%, 50% and 75% for 61 hours. Methods: This study is a laboratory experimental with a size of 20x3 mm based on ISO 1567 as many as 24 samples divided into 4 groups, nylon group A was immersed in aquadest, and group B,C,D was immersed in pandan wangi extract solution with a concentration of 25%, 50% and 75% for 61 hours. The sample size formula used is the Federer formula, then measure color stability with colorimeter CS-10, then look at the results if ΔE<3,5 is considered clinically acceptable, if the ΔE>3.5 indicates color change or significant color change. visible to the naked eye and not clinically acceptable. Results: The mean results of the color stability test showed that only 25% concentration could be used as an alternative denture cleaning agent with a value of 3,04±0,51, which states that the 25% group achieved a ΔE<3,5. The results of a one-way ANOVA test, the value of p=0,0001 was stated that there was a significant effect between nylon immersion in the concentration group on color stability. Conclusion: The use of pandan wangi extract solution as a denture cleaning agent can affect the color stability of the nylon material, however, only a solution with a concentration of 25% can be used as an alternative denture cleaning agent, because it is still within the clinically acceptable value range.
