Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to examine the significance of da'wah values within the MAFINDO (Masyarakat Anti Fitnah Indonesia) website as a means to combat hoax news on social media. The research methodology employed is content analysis, which helps reveal the contents of the research instrument. The study utilizes the Media Dependency Theory to evaluate MAFINDO's image as portrayed in several of its posts. In this particular case, the Media Dependency Theory serves as a tool to better understand how da'wah values manifest in the content presented on the MAFINDO website, aiming to counter hoax news on social media. The study's findings indicate the presence of two da'wah values on the website. Firstly, the MAFINDO website serves as a platform for truth, promoting the value of information disclosure. Additionally, the value of da'wah is evident in the "fact-checking" tool, which makes a significant contribution to fostering an intelligent, critical, and honorable society. Individuals can establish trust and uphold national and societal harmony by collaborating to prevent the spread of fake news. Previous literature lacks research examining the role of da'wah in countering hoaxes, making this study a valuable contribution to the social and religious communication field and the study of hoax news on social media. This research highlights the correlation between social and religious factors in MAFINDO's role as an institution combating defamation and slander, particularly in anti-corruption efforts.

Abstract

Fakta bahwa umat muslim di Indonesia yang masih belum melek al-Qur’an menjadi permasalahan yang memprihatinkan di era kontemporer ini. Padahal al-Qur’an memiliki peran penting bagi kehidupan umat muslim ketika masih hidup di universe maupun di akhirat kelak. Study ini membahas mengenai pemikiran dakwah Dr. KH Ahsin Sakho Muhammad, Lc MA. Al Hafizh, seorang pakar ilmu al-Qur’an dari Cirebon.Untuk dapat mengkaji lebih dalam pemikiran tokoh tersebut, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi tokoh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran dakwah Dr. KH Ahsin Sakho Muhammad, Lc MA. Al Hafizh adalah membumikan ilmu-ilmu al-Qur’an yang paling efektif dapat dilakukan dengan cara menggemakan al-Qur’an melalui seni membacanya, yakni qiro’at (ilmu yang membahas tentang tata cara mengucapkan lafadz-lafadz al-Qur’an dengan menisbahkan atau menghubungkan bacaan-bacaan tersebut kepada perawinya hingga tersambung sampai Rasulullah) dan tarannum (melagukan suara atau melenggak-lenggokkan suara ketika membaca al-Qur’an yang difariasikan menurut proses tone, dan. beat dan rhythm tertentu).

Abstract

This article aims to describe the perceptions of Muslim leaders towards the existence of the Surabaya Ahmadiyah Islamic community organization. The research method used in this paper is Stuart Hall's reception theory analysis which divides the categorization of perceptions into three, namely: dominant, negotiated, and oppositional. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews with NU, Muhammadiyah, and LDII leaders. The results showed NU, Muhammadiyah, and LDII's disapproval of Ahmadiyya ideology that considers Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet. Even so, acts of violence against Ahmadiyya are not justified. Muslim communities must continue to uphold the value of tolerance to respect each other. On the other hand, Surabaya Ahmadiyah leaders said they would not retaliate for the violence that had been committed against other Ahmadiyah congregations through the principle of mutual love.  The emergence of recommendations to anticipate acts of intolerance by holding a dialogue between Islamic organizations to create a discussion space to understand each other.
