Abstract

This research aims to determine inventory policy planning using the Continuous Review and Periodic Review method to Minimize Overstock. The research methods used in this research are the Continuous Review and Periodic Review methods to minimize overstock. Data collection through observation, documentation and interviews. This research classifies products using ABC analysis. The results of the ABC analysis classification, namely 3 types of products including category A, 3 types of products including category B, and 2 types of products including category C. Based on the results of the ABC analysis classification, categories A and B are calculated using the continuous review method (s, S) and category C will be calculated using the periodic review method (R, s, S). Based on the results of data processing, the amount of proposed inventory produced has decreased by around 39% and the cost of proposed inventory by around 90%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the proposed inventory policy using the continuous review (s, S) and periodic review (R, s, S) methods is able to minimize overstock that occurs at PT. XYZ.

Abstract

PT Thursina Mediana Utama merupakanperusahaan penerbitan dan percetakan. Salah satu produkyang diterbitkan oleh perusahaan adalah buku teks pelajaran.Terjadi permasalahan keterlambatan penyelesaian produksibuku teks Pelajaran yang disebabkan tidak lancarnya aliranproduksi karena adanya bottleneck di mesin web karena inputyang diterima melebihi kapasitas mesin dan perusahaan tidakmemiliki prioritas pesanan yang didahulukan. Metode drumbuffer rope diterapkan pada permasalahan tersebut denganmenjadikan mesin web sebagai drum yaitu titik kendali dalampenjadwalan, lalu rope yaitu forward scheduling pada operasisetelah mesin web dan backward scheduling pada operasisebelum mesin dengan melakukan lot splitting berdasarkankapasitas mesin web. Hasil urutan pekerjaan dibantu denganmenggunakan algoritma Nawaz, Enscore, and Ham (NEH).Penjadwalan tersebut menghasilkan penurunan makespanpada job periode Bulan Maret menjadi 3012,51 menit, turunsebesar 4% dari kondisi aktual yaitu 3136,84 menit dan untukjob periode Bulan April menjadi 4246,60 menit, turun sebesar14% dari kondisi aktual yaitu 4956,12 menit. Lalu penurunanmanufacturing lead time untuk job periode Bulan Maretmenjadi 364,86 menit, turun sebesar 68% dari kondisi aktualyaitu 1139,04 menit dan untuk job periode Bulan Aprilmenjadi 1192,89 menit, turun sebesar 57% dari kondisi aktualyaitu 2768,19 menit.
