Narcotics (narcotics and drugs/narcotics, psychotropic substances, and addictive substances) as defined by the Narcotics Act No. 35 of 2009 are substances or drugs derived from plants or otherwise that can cause a decrease or alteration in consciousness, classified in accordance with applicable regulations. Their distribution and use must comply with applicable regulations. However, in reality, there are still cases outside these regulations, not only in major cities but also in rural areas, including Kepau Jaya Village in Siak Hulu Sub-district, Kampar District. Therefore, preventive measures are needed through education and awareness campaigns to foster understanding and awareness. Kepau Jaya Village in Siak Hulu Sub-district, Kampar District, is one of the areas where drug trafficking and abuse have occurred. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the cases in Kepau Jaya Village should be a concern for many parties, not only law enforcement but also the community and higher education institutions. Collaboration between law enforcement, the community, and higher education institutions is expected to effectively address the widespread circulation and abuse of drugs. Higher education institutions can contribute by providing scientific insights. The presence of village officials and the community during the activity demonstrates their commitment to preventing and addressing drug-related issues.
