Abstract

Workflow automation plays a vital role in developing efficient government operations. Anchored on the Technology Acceptance Model, this descriptive-correlational study evaluated the efficiency of using automation tools in key work processes of a Philippine government agency. A census of the population was used to gather data from the 31 employees directly involved in the subject agency’s automation processes. Data were collected through a researcher-structured, validated questionnaire via Google Forms. These data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, multiple linear regression, ANOVA and Pearson r correlation analysis. The findings indicated that automation tools significantly enhanced the efficacy of key work processes in terms of speed, accuracy, and collaboration. Moreover, the study also revealed that employees are generally satisfied with performing routine and repetitive tasks because of the benefits of automation tools. However, the efficacy of key work processes is not significantly related to their overall job satisfaction. The study also revealed that the perceived impact of automation tools on key work processes is not affected by the demographic profile of the employees. This study also revealed that staff resistance and system integration issues are major barriers to the adoption of workflow automation. Furthermore, the study confirmed that there was no statistically significant correlation between perceived ease of use and problems encountered with automation tools.  A strategic roadmap is proposed to improve workflow automation efficiency and address adoption-related challenges. This study also offers valuable insights for other government agencies seeking to introduce and assess similar technologies to enhance workflow and operational efficiency.

Abstract

Hosting mega-sport events is a risk-involving decision, but the intangible benefits as an outcome cannot be ignored. This study gauged the impact of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on the quality of life through the working conditions, public safety, and cost of living related to the job performance of the 20 finance and accounting department workforce of a construction company in Doha, Qatar. Employing the descriptive-correlation method as the research design, the data gathered using the researcher-structured questionnaire were analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Spearman Rho coefficient correlation test as statistical tools. The study concluded that the anticipated negative quality of life indicators did not materialize during the mega-sport event. Further, the 2022 FIFA World Cup did not negatively impact the respondents' job performance since they still managed to perform their job assignments well. The paper, therefore, encourages that, at the very least, employees to diligently perform their jobs at all times while employers provide the necessities and should always consider safeguarding their employees' quality of life while at work by providing decent and comfortable working conditions and reasonable compensation and benefits enabling them to adequately cover their cost of living, especially during periods where mega-events are to be held within the geographical scope of their business operations. This study is useful for policymakers who are planning to utilize mega events to enhance the quality of life and job performance of working residents of the host communities.

Abstract

The rank-and-file employees of the subject social health insurance corporation (SHIC) should comprehensively understand its program and services as they are expected to provide timely, accurate, and relevant information to the members. This study was conducted to determine the awareness of employees on the programs and services of a SHIC in the Philippines. It focused on three aspects: membership, contribution, and benefits availment. This study also looked into the top queries received by employees and the channel or medium of communication where they primarily received the information. This descriptive-quantitative research used a structured questionnaire distributed to the 186 SHIC employees (Job Grades 5-10) in the different sectors of the corporation. Findings revealed that SHIC employees are generally somewhat aware of the three aspects of SHIC's programs and services. It was also found that the level of awareness of employees does not vary across job grade classifications. The most frequent inquiries received by SHIC employees revolved around membership processes such as ID/MDR issuance, membership registration, updating of dependents, and understanding benefits and deductions. Lastly, official social media platforms, meetings, interaction with colleagues, and direct communication from SHIC representatives were the organization's primary sources of information.  The recommendations forwarded in this study can enhance SHIC's services aligned with its mission of providing accessible and affordable healthcare in the country.

Abstract

Quality control management practices (QCMP) are a driving force in augmenting organizational quality performance. This study determined the QCMP of a semiconductor company in Laguna, Philippines and assessed its perceived impact on customer satisfaction. A researcher-made survey instrument was validated and pilot-tested, establishing a Cronbach Alpha of 0.892. The surveyed respondents are 150 employees of the subject-semiconductor company who consented to participate in the study. The collected data were analyzed utilizing frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and ANOVA. The study found that employees were aware of the implementation of company-wide QCMP, and they likewise perceived that the quality system was appropriately set in place. The study proved that the company's dedication to continuous improvement and employee engagement leading to customer satisfaction is evident. Moreover, the study also proved that profile indicators employed in the study are not varying factors for the company's QCMP implementation. To continue reaping the highest implementation, it is recommended that the company sustain the commitment to maintain its QCMP through continuous training, employee feedback, exploring opportunities, better customer relations, and enhancing cross-functional processes.

Abstract

Interdisciplinary collaboration is vital in healthcare organizations for enhancing service delivery and employee outcomes. This study, conducted among 190 regular employees of a private tertiary hospital in the Philippines, examined the relationship between key dimensions of interdisciplinary collaboration—communication, mutual respect, role clarity, conflict resolution, and leadership—and employee engagement aspects such as organizational commitment, recognition, growth opportunities, job satisfaction, and affective commitment. Using a descriptive-quantitative design, data were collected through a validated questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using frequency distribution, weighted mean, and Spearman’s rank-order correlation. Findings indicated generally strong collaboration, with highest ratings in mutual respect, and role clarity, and moderate performance in communication, leadership support, and conflict resolution. Employee engagement was similarly positive, with strengths in organizational commitment and growth opportunities, while affective commitment, job satisfaction, and recognition were moderate. Significant positive relationships were found between all collaboration and engagement dimensions, highlighting that effective collaboration fosters greater motivation, satisfaction, and organizational attachment. The results align with Social Exchange Theory, suggesting that positive interpersonal interactions cultivate reciprocal commitment and engagement.  Despite the positive ratings, employees reported challenges including the need for stronger interdepartmental support, communication breakdowns, conflicting departmental priorities, and hierarchical role dominance hindering effective collaboration. Building on these insights, the study proposes organizational initiatives to strengthen leadership effectiveness, improve conflict management, and create structured pathways for professional advancement. Embedding these initiatives into daily practice can sustain a motivated workforce, foster cohesive teamwork, and advance patient-centered care.

Abstract

Promotional strategies serve a vital role in enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. In relation to customer retention, these strategies are essential for fostering long-term engagement. This study examines the role of promotional strategies in customer retention at a music studio in Rizal, Philippines. Using a descriptive–correlational research design, data were collected through a researcher-developed structured questionnaire where all items were measured using a four-point Likert scale administered to 158 qualified customers. The Cronbach’s alpha test was used for reliability analysis, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis. The findings revealed that the studio’s digital promotion and value proposition were highly effective, as the studio maintains a strong online presence and communicates service value clearly. In customer retention, findings showed that clients exhibit strong loyalty and community engagement, driven by positive experiences, trust, and a sense of belonging. Moreover, several challenges were identified, including accessibility issues, inconsistent communication, and limited follow-up with former clients. The study provides several proposed strategies to strengthen digital promotion and value proposition to gain customer loyalty and community engagement, which can offer valuable insights for other music studios to improve their promotional strategies and draw plans for customer retention.
