Abstract

Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is a computer technology in the field of artificial intelligence that is able to understand complex data patterns. One of ANN's technological capabilities is being able to predict solutions based on training patterns provided during the system learning process. This study aims to apply the signature pattern by applying ANN using the Backpropagation method. Backpropagation method is one of the learning algorithms related to the preparation of weights based on the value of errors in learning. The image will be processed using the Backpropagation method which will be obtained by the introduction. The results introduce 50 signature data samples and 50 signature sample data. The test is carried out using 50 samples, where each sample will be requested once. From the results of the research that has been done it can be concluded that the results obtained from the parameters with a learning rate of 0.5, epoch 100, objectives 1e-5 and momentum 0.9 with the results of 68% system testing.

Abstract

Adequate lecture facilities and infrastructure are important factors in supporting the teaching and learning process, especially at the Faculty of Public Health Sciences, State Islamic University of North Sumatra, where there is a Health Laboratory Unit with the availability of tools to support practicum activities. Lecture facilities such as practical tools and measuring instruments have a great risk of damage and loss, so a good tool loan transaction recording system is needed so that borrower data and the existence of tools can be known. With the condition of students who increase every year, the application of the manual system is no longer efficient and effective to apply. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of a web-based information system to support the laboratory equipment lending process at the Faculty of Public Health. The main results show that this system can help improve the efficiency of the equipment lending and returning process by reducing administrative barriers and providing transparency on laboratory equipment inventory data. The research process involves problem identification, system development, testing, evaluation and revision. The main problems found at the research location were such as the equipment lending process which was previously done manually, causing recording errors and data loss and lack of transparency in equipment availability so that there were often schedule conflicts or user ignorance about the status of the equipment. The system developed aims to overcome the problems that exist in the laboratory by presenting a more practical and integrated information technology-based solution.

Abstract

Sortasi buah alpukat berdasarkan ukuran dan tingkat kematangan merupakan salah satu langkah penting dalam memastikan mutu hasil panen sebelum didistribusikan ke pasar. Penelitian ini merancang dan menguji sistem sortasi otomatis dengan memanfaatkan teknik pengolahan citra digital menggunakan perangkat lunak MATLAB. Gambar buah diambil menggunakan kamera digital sebagai input utama sistem. Tahapan pengolahan meliputi peningkatan kualitas citra, pemisahan objek dari latar belakang, serta analisis karakteristik warna dan ukuran buah. Warna dianalisis menggunakan model ruang warna HSV untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kematangan, sementara ukuran dihitung berdasarkan luas dan dimensi buah dari citra yang telah diproses. Sistem ini berhasil mengelompokkan buah alpukat ke dalam beberapa kategori secara akurat, baik dari segi ukuran maupun warna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini efektif dan berpotensi diimplementasikan dalam proses sortasi buah secara otomatis, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi kerja serta konsistensi produk dalam industri pertanian.
