Abstract

This study aims to develop student worksheets (LKPD) based on scientific literacy on the digestive system subject of class XI IPA high school. The small group test was conducted at SMAN 4 Dumai, because the LKPD used so far had not been based on scientific literacy so the scientific literacy ability of students was still low. This type of research was a research and development model of Borg and Gall. The validity instruments were the RPP, the LKPD, and the question validation sheets. The practicality instrument was a questionnaire of teacher and student responses. The validator consists of 2 lecturers (subject and education experts) and 2 teachers (practitioners). The data obtained is qualitative data converted to quantitative data. RPP validation results from 7 aspects of 3.8 (valid). LKPD validation of 3.77 (valid) includes content aspects of 3.92, linguistic 3.63, content 3.67, and characteristics of 3.85. LKPD is classified as practical after being tested on 15 class XII science students who have received food digestion subject before. The results of the response of students by 3.51 from 3 aspects, namely subject, language and presentation. The results of teacher responses amounted to 3.77. It can be concluded that the LKPD developed is feasible and practically used in the learning process.

Abstract

The validity of textbooks is an important thing before it is used in the learning. This study aims to determine the level of validity of the 2013 curriculum-based biology textbook that is integrated to the ayat Kauniyah (Kauniyah verses). The research was conducted on the campus of the Master of Biology Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau University. The validation of the textbook was carried out by 5 validators consisting of 3 experts according to their fields and expertise, and 2 validators from education practitioners. The validators from the expert element consists of Plant Science expert, Animal Science expert and one expertist on the integration of kauniyah verses. While the validator from the education practitioner element consists of 2 SMAIT teachers who are members of the city biology subject teacher deliberation (MGMP) Pekanbaru. The developed Biology textbooks based on the 2013 curriculum with the integration of kauniyah verses were declared very valid with an average of 95.20%. If detailed based on indicators, the results obtained are 94.44% in appearance aspects (very valid), 96.53% content aspects (very valid), 97.22% presentation aspects (very valid), 95.00% linguistic aspects (very valid) ) and aspects of the kauniyah verses 92.82% (very valid)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the biological science literacy ability of students’ grade IX at Ujung Batu Junior High Schools. Students’ biological science literacy abilities are affected by many things, such as untrained students’ to solve characteristic questions such as the questions on PISA. This research used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The instrument used to capture students’ biological science literacy ability is a test. The research conducted at Ujung Batu Junior High Schools Accredited “A” population distributed in three schools with the population in this study was all the students in grade IX at Ujung Batu Junior High Schools in the 2019/2020 academic year. The Sampling technique used in this research is simple random sampling. The comprehensive scientific literacy score is 69.15, which is in the middle level. Based on aspects of scientific literacy (1) science content, amounted to 71.18 medium categories; (2) science process, 59.73 medium categories and (3) science context, 76.53 medium categories. The research conclusion is that there is a different capacity of students’ biological science literacy after using test questions on students’ scientific literacy ability.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has made changes to several aspects of life such as education. Online learning is a new challenge for educators and students and mastery of using digital media is the key to successful education during a pandemic. This study aims to determine the digital literacy ability profile of class XI high school students in learning dare biology during the Covid-19 pandemic. The benefits of this research are providing knowledge and motivation for students, providing views and input for educators in developing learning strategies. This study used a descriptive quantitative method with instruments used in data collection in the form of validation sheets, questionnaire sheets and interview lists. The digital literacy component includes 8 digital literacy components. The results obtained on the functional skill component with an average of 86.91%, the creative component with an average of 77.79%, the average collaboration component is 71.07%, the ability to search for and select information with an average 77.10%, the critical thinking and evaluation component with an average of 76.20%, the socio-cultural understanding component with an average of 75.29%, the security component with an average of 84.82%. All of these components are known to mean that the average digital literacy ability of class XI students at SMA 3 Pekanbaru City gets a score of 78.81%. Based on these results, it can be interpreted that the Digital Literacy Ability of Class XI High School Students in Biology Online Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period is in the Good category.
