Abstract

Research on the development of washer wiper system learning media aims to increase students' understanding in practical learning activities for body electrical systems in the automotive electricity course at the Automotive Technology Vocational Education Program at PGRI Yogyakarta University. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. This model has 5 development stages, namely: 1) Analysis (analysis) 2) Design (design) 3) Development (development) 4) Implementation (implementation) and 5) Evaluation (evaluation). Feasibility and functional testing of the washer wiper system learning media was carried out in the automotive technology vocational education laboratory by media expert lecturers and material experts. The results of these tests were that the washer wiper system learning media developed could be used as a learning medium in automotive electrical courses. The average score of media expert lecturers is 88% and material expert lecturers is 88%, the washer wiper system learning media is suitable and good to use as a learning medium. The results of the trial with 30 question points that were taken, as many as 91% of students stated that the washer wiper system learning media was suitable and good as a learning media for automotive electrical systems. The results of students' practical tests using the washer wiper system learning media received an average score of 82.86 in the good category so that the washer wiper learning media can improve students' understanding.   Key words: development, learning media, automotive electricity, washer wiper

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian R&D (research and development) dengan menggunakan tahapan ADDIE. Tujuan pengembangan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran sistem starter berbasis problem solving yang layak digunakan pada pembelajaran mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor.Penelitian dilakukan di Program Studi Pendidikan Vokasional Teknologi Otomotif Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta pada pebelajaran mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor. Data dari penelitian ini diperoleh dari 2 validator yaitu ahli teori dan media, 1 dosen mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor dan 6 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan vokasional teknologi otomotif.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran sistem starter berbasis problem solving yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor. Hal ini dapat dilihat hasil validasi oleh para ahli yaitu validasi teori sebesar 85.00% dengan kategori sangat baik, sedangkan hasil dari validasi media sebesar 86.67% dengan kategori sangat baik. Media pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria praktis dan efektif digunakan pada pembelajaran mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil respon dosen mata kuliah teknologi sepeda motor sebesar 85.00% dengan kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan hasil responden mahasiswa sebesar 99.33% dengan kategori sangat baik. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, media pembelajaran, sistem starter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kelayakan media pembelajaran mobil listrik gocar dengan sistem rangkaian penerangan terbuka pada mata kuliah Sistem Kelistrikan Otomotif, sekaligus meningkatkan hasil belajar teori dan praktikum mahasiswa PVTO UPY angkatan 2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D), yaitu penelitian pengembangan untuk menciptakan atau menyempurnakan produk pembelajaran.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai pendukung pembelajaran. Uji kelayakan oleh ahli media memperoleh skor 36 dari 40 (90%), sehingga masuk kategori sangat layak. Uji kelayakan oleh ahli materi memperoleh skor 31 dari 40 (77,5%), sehingga masuk kategori layak.Respon mahasiswa juga mendukung hasil tersebut. Dari 10 mahasiswa yang terlibat, 8 menyatakan media pembelajaran sangat layak, sementara 2 lainnya menilai layak. Hal ini menunjukkan penerimaan positif terhadap media yang dikembangkan.Selain itu, efektivitas media terlihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar. Pada pembelajaran teori, nilai ketuntasan meningkat dari 60% (pretest) menjadi 80% (posttest), atau naik sebesar 20%. Pada praktikum, ketuntasan meningkat dari 50% pada praktikum pertama menjadi 80% pada praktikum kedua, atau naik sebesar 30%. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran mobil listrik gocar berbasis rangkaian penerangan terbuka terbukti layak dan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa, baik pada aspek teori maupun praktikum. Abstract

The study titled Design of a Gasix Go-Kart Prototype as a Learning Medium for Electric Motor Systems in the Electric Vehicle Technology Course at PGRI Yogyakarta University aims to develop and evaluate instructional media for electric motor system learning at the UPY PVTO Lab. The objectives of this research are: (1) to produce appropriate and feasible learning media for electric motor systems used in the Electric Vehicle Technology course, (2) to determine the effectiveness of the developed media in supporting student learning, and (3) to identify obstacles encountered during the design process of the Gasix Go-Kart–based learning media.This study adopts the Four-D (4D) development model. Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate introduced by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974). The research was conducted at the UPY PVTO Lab with 10 students as participants. Data were collected using interview guidelines and questionnaires, including assessments from media experts, material experts, and student response questionnaires. The results show that the designed learning media meet feasibility standards. Material expert validation yielded a score of 88%, while media expert validation reached 76%, placing the product in the “appropriate for use” category. Furthermore, student response tests indicate that the media are highly effective, achieving an 82% score categorized as "very effective.” Challenges encountered during development relate primarily to time constraints and the selection of target respondents. Time limitations affected stages such as design, production, validation, dissemination, and evaluation. Meanwhile, determining suitable respondents required careful selection to ensure alignment with the research objectives and characteristics needed for accurate feedback.   Keywords: media, electric motor system, Gasix gokart, electric vehicle technology.
