Abstract

Grade V MIM Al-Akbar Pandeyan students generally find it difficult to learn mathematics because they consider it a difficult and scary subject, even though mathematics has an important role in everyday life. This study aims to determine students' learning difficulties and the factors causing students' learning difficulties in mathematics subjects for grade V at MIM Al-Akbar Pandeyan, Ngemplak, Boyolali, in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques use tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) The learning difficulties faced by students in mathematics subjects for grade V consist of two, namely students' difficulties in understanding the concept of material on nets of geometric shapes (cubes and cuboids) and difficulties in problem-solving, namely in arithmetic operations, solving story problems, and changing problem sentences into mathematical sentences; 2) The factors of learning difficulties faced by students in mathematics subjects of grade V at MIM Al-Akbar Pandeyan consist of two factors, namely internal factors (attitude in learning 54.80%, learning motivation 58.97%, physical health 44.87%, and sensory ability 45.19%) and external factors (teacher factors 39.74%, use of learning media 55.13%, school facilities and infrastructure 43.27%, and family environment 46.92%). The results of this study are expected to help teachers design more adaptive learning strategies based on student needs

Abstract

This research is motivated by persistent problems in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process, particularly related to the lack of variety in teaching methods used by teachers, resulting in low student learning interest. PAI learning plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding, attitudes, and character in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, more active and innovative learning strategies are needed to enable students to engage directly in the learning process. This study aims to determine how student learning interest changes in Islamic Religious Education learning through the implementation of role-playing methods at SMA Mandala Trikora Jayapura. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the learning implementation and student responses to the role-playing method. The results of the study indicate that the application of role-playing methods in Islamic Religious Education learning can increase student learning interest, foster enthusiasm and active participation in learning activities, and help students understand the learning material more deeply, especially in Islamic history. Thus, the use of varied and interactive learning methods such as role-playing methods can be an alternative, effective learning strategy in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the dialectic of faith and action in shaping students' religious character through the Field Practice Exam (UPL) program. This research is motivated by the importance of connecting students' religious understanding with real-life practices. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to describe in depth the program's implementation process. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation of the implementation of the field practice exam program. The results showed that the field practice exam plays a significant role in connecting students' understanding of faith with real-life actions, such as patience in facing difficulties in the field, discipline and responsibility (Amanah) in carrying out tasks, maintaining worship amidst busy practice, and being honest and having good morals in interacting with others during the field practice. The dialectic of faith and action is evident when students' religious values encourage religious behavior, while practical experiences in the field also strengthen students' faith and religious awareness. In addition, the UPL program provides students with direct experience in implementing religious values in social life. Thus, field practice learning becomes an effective means of internalizing religious values and continuously shaping students' religious character
