Abstract

Sea stars are one of the echinoderms, members of the Asteroidea class. In aquatic animal ecosystems, echinoderms have very important value as environmental cleaners in the sea, such as eating carcasses and animal waste under the sea. This research aims to identify the types of starfish found in the waters of Awang Beach, Awang Hamlet, Mertak Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency. This type of research is exploratory descriptive research. This research uses a purposive sampling method with three stations, each station consisting of 4 plots. Based on the results of the data analysis that was carried out, three types of starfish were obtained at Awang Beach, namely Protoreaster nodosus, Archaster typichus, and Linckia laevigata.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dominance of starfish species in the Pantai Awang area, Central Lombok Regency. The type of this research is exploratory descriptive research. This study uses purposive sampling method with 3 stations, 5 transects, and 4 plots. The data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the dominance index. The results of the research conducted show that the highest dominance is found in the species Protoreaster nodosus, with a dominance index value of 0.857, categorized as moderate dominance, meaning there is light dominance where the development of species is quite balanced. Meanwhile, Archaster typichus and Linckia laevigata have dominance index values of 0.114 and 0.028, categorized as low dominance, meaning there is no dominance with balanced species development. Thus, it can be concluded that in the studied ecosystem, Protoreaster nodosus tends to be more dominant compared to Archaster typichus and Linckia laevigata, but there is no species that is so dominant as to disturb the balance of the ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the ecology module based on validator assessments in the context of environmental education. The developed ecology module aims to provide a deep understanding of the importance of environmental protection and to raise ecological awareness among students. The type of research is development research involving validators consisting of content/material experts, language experts, and appearance experts. Data were collected through assessment instruments designed to evaluate the aspects of content, structure, language, and the alignment of the module with environmental education objectives. The research results show that the validation conducted by three expert validators, namely content/material experts at 77.5%, language experts at 82.5%, and appearance experts at 72.5%. The overall average of the three is 79.6%. Overall, the developed ecology module has met the feasibility criteria, although there are some suggestions for improvement regarding the simplification of the material and the use of more engaging media. Based on the validator's assessment, this module is considered effective in conveying ecological concepts and relevant for application in the context of environmental education in schools, thus it can be concluded that the ecology module is deemed feasible and does not need to be revised.
