Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The purpose of this Community Service activity is to improve healthy houses and healthy settlements in the prevention of TB disease in the Lempuing and Sawah Lebar Baru Health Center areas. Based on the analysis of the situation above, the problems in the working area of the Lempuing and Sawah Lebar Baru Health Centers can be identified as follows: the high number of TB cases in the working area of the Lempuing and Sawah Lebar Baru Health Centers, the low knowledge about residential sanitation, the dangers and health impacts caused, the low knowledge about the dangers of TB disease transmission, the low level of knowledge about PHBS. This method of community service activities uses the method of community empowerment and community participation with a family nursing approach through problem recognition, deciding to take care of, take care of it, modify the environment and utilize health facilities. Evaluation of activities and monitoring is carried out formatively and summatively through the instruments that have been prepared. The results of the Wilcoxon Ranked Test statistical test showed a p value of 0.000 (p value ≤ α = 0.05), meaning that there was an influence of knowledge and skills after community service.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Earplug, ICCU, Kualitas Tidur, Heart Monitor   ABSTRACT Background: Patients admitted to the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) often experience sleep disturbances due to noise from medical equipment and staff activities. Poor sleep quality can delay the healing process, increase the risk of complications, and negatively impact the patient's psychological condition. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce noise is the use of earplugs, which are a simple and effective hearing protection tool. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of earplug use on improving the sleep quality of patients with heart monitors in the ICCU of RSUD Dr. M. Yunus Kota Bengkulu. Methods: This was a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach. A total of 92 patients were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test. Results: The results showed a significant difference in sleep quality scores before and after the use of earplugs, with a significance value of p = 0.000. This indicates that the use of earplugs has a positive effect on improving the sleep quality of patients in the ICCU. Conclusion: The use of earplugs is an effective non-pharmacological intervention that can be implemented by nurses to create a more conducive environment for patient rest. It is recommended that earplugs become part of routine nursing interventions in the ICCU. Keywords: Earplug, ICCU, Sleep Quality, Heart Monitor

Abstract

Elderly is a person who has reached the age of ≤60 years which is a stage that every individual goes through in the life process. Gout Athritis disease, also known as gout, is a type of arthritis characterized by hyperuricemia or high levels of uric acid in the blood causing symptoms of pain in various joints. World Health Organization (WHO) data reported that the number of people with gout arthritis in the world reaches 335 million people and this number continues to increase every year. One of the non- pharmacological therapies for pain that can be done is Rheumatic Gymnastics and Cold Water Therapy. This study is to determine the effect of rheumatic gymnastics and Cold Water Therapy on reducing the pain scale in the elderly with Gout Athritis in the working area of the Muara Bangkahulu Health Center, Bengkulu City in 2025. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a pre- post with control group with a total sample of 52 respondents. The intervention of rheumatic gymnastics and Cold Water Therapy was carried out 3 times for 2 weeks with the instrument used being the Numeric Rating Scale. Statistical tests using Mann-whitney showed a p-value of 0.034 (p value α 0.05) so it can be interpreted that there is an effect ≤ of rheumatic gymnastics and Cold Water Therapy on the reduction of pain scale in the elderly with Gout Athritis in the working area of the Muara Bangkahulu Health Center.
