Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, particularly the internet, has significantly influenced access to information by making it faster and more accurate. In the education sector, information technology can be optimally utilized through websites as media for information dissemination and student registration to improve service quality. At Ummul Quro Islamic Boarding School, information delivery and new student admissions are still conducted manually, which limits efficiency and accessibility. Therefore, this research aims to develop an information system that functions as a medium for delivering information and managing new student registration so it can be accessed anytime and anywhere without requiring direct visits. The research employs the waterfall method, a systematic and sequential software development approach starting from planning to implementation. The results show that the developed web-based information system effectively improves information accessibility and service processes, particularly in new student admissions. The system enhances administrative efficiency, simplifies data input, reduces errors, accelerates data recording, and supports better management of Islamic boarding school information.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of information technology in higher education has generated large volumes of academic data that can be utilized to support evidence-based institutional decision-making. However, many Islamic higher education institutions still face challenges in identifying student graduation patterns, particularly in distinguishing students who graduate on time from those who experience academic delays. This study aims to analyze student graduation patterns using the K-Means clustering algorithm as an Educational Data Mining approach. The study utilized academic records of 634 undergraduate students from an Islamic higher education institution in Lampung, Indonesia, with 127 records (20% of the population) selected through representative sampling for clustering analysis. Data preprocessing included cleaning, normalization, and attribute selection before clustering was performed using the Orange Data Mining platform. The resulting clusters were evaluated through visual exploration using scatter plots to identify similarities and differences in graduation characteristics. The analysis revealed distinct student clusters representing different graduation profiles, including timely graduates and students with delayed completion. These findings provide valuable insights for academic management by enabling early identification of at-risk students and supporting data-driven academic interventions, strategic planning, and quality assurance initiatives. The proposed approach demonstrates that K-Means clustering is an effective method for discovering hidden patterns in academic data and can contribute to improving student success management in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

The digital system in the era of digitalization is developing rapidly, so it requires the Management of MT Raden Intan Gadingrejo to meet functional needs in the fields of data, applications, and technology. The role of technology is crucial in providing information to support decision-making. Therefore, it is necessary to design an information system that allows users to access data and information effectively. Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) is a method of planning your entire information architecture. The EAP phase includes data architecture, application architecture, technology architecture, and implementation design. In this study, we used use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams as implementation support tools. MTs Raden Intan Gadingrejo's research produced a strategic blueprint in the form of a mobile website-based information system. The purpose of this system is to improve the quality of services in madrassas by allowing users to access information easily even when they are not there. Only with software and an online connection, users can access information easily. This design is expected to be a reference for improving services in schools and providing effective digital solutions.
