Abstract

Bone, as an important organ in the body, has a fundamental role in supporting biomechanical functions, carrying out the hematopoiesis process, and maintaining calcium homeostasis. The cellular components of bone involve various types of cells, including osteogenic precursor cells, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, and hematopoietic elements from the bone marrow. Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in the formation of collagen, skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, as well as in wound healing and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth. This study aims to analysed mean value and difference in the number of osteoblast cells in the femur of rats exposed to alcohol between groups receiving vitamin C. Based on the results of the One Way ANOVA test, the p value = 0.018 <0.05 was obtained, which indicated a significant difference in the average osteoblasts between groups. Furthermore, in the Post Hoc test, a difference in the mean osteoblasts was found between groups T3 and T5 with a p value = 0.029 < 0.05 and between groups T4 and T5 with a p value = 0.044 < 0.05. Conclusion: Administration of vitamin C can affect the increase in the number of osteoblast cells in the bone healing process in mice exposed to alcohol.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of Brand Awareness and Perceived Quality on Patient Loyalty at the Prima Vision Special Eye Hospital, Medan. The population in this study were patients at the Prima Vision Medan Special Eye Hospital. The sample in this study was 93 patients at the Prima Vision Special Eye Hospital in Medan using the Slovin formula and the Simple Random Sampling method. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The research results show that simultaneously, Brand Awareness and Perceived Quality have a significant effect on Patient Loyalty at the Prima Vision Special Eye Hospital, Medan. Partially, Brand Awareness has a positive and significant effect on Patient Loyalty at Prima Vision Medan Special Eye Hospital, Perceived Quality has a positive and significant effect on Patient Loyalty at Prima Vision Medan Special Eye Hospital. From the results of the determinant coefficient analysis, it was obtained that R Adjusted Square (R^2) was 0.592, this means that 59.2 percent of the Patient Loyalty variable can be explained by the Brand Awareness and Perceived Quality variables while the rest can be explained by other variables not examined in this research.

Abstract

Abstract The Emergency Department (ED) requires effective communication between nurses and patients to ensure patient safety and quality of care; however, various barriers to communication remain prevalent. This study aimed to analyze differences in communication barrier factors between nurses and patients in the ED of Andini Hospital, Pekanbaru. This observational analytic study employed a retrospective cohort approach and involved 80 respondents (40 nurses and 40 patients) selected through consecutive sampling using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using an independent t-test or the Mann–Whitney test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results demonstrated no statistically significant difference in nurse-related factors between the nurse and patient groups (p = 0.134). In contrast, health system–related factors showed a significant difference (p < 0.001), with nurses perceiving system-related communication barriers to be higher than patients. These findings indicate that communication barriers in the ED are more predominantly influenced by health system factors rather than individual nurse-related factors. Therefore, strengthening service systems and institutional support is necessary to improve communication effectiveness and enhance patient safety in the ED.
