Abstract

Aim: Individual and collective competencies emerge from the capability approach, with the freedom of choice aspect and actors’ organisation giving rise to them in accordance with their will and the particularity of their territory. All the interests and influences on the behaviour and the dynamics of the local actors that we wish to highlight through this article are reflected in the importance of creating a collective dynamic around the projects.Method: The tourism project’s relationships among various actors with competing goals were studied using a qualitative approach. This connection is analysed for its externalities (both positive and negative) and as a driving territory behind local development initiatives in the Guelmims province.Findings: We have three profiles based on the interviews: the active steering group, the active facilitator, and the passive actor. A qualitative analysis of the actors provides a better understanding of both than trying to standardise actors’ behaviour and thoughts with quantitative analysis tools.Implications/Novel Contribution: These studies highlight the importance of human capital in rural areas, particularly in the Saharan provinces of Morocco, like Guelmim, where it has been traditionally overlooked.

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to investigate the relationships between curriculum design, aesthetic education, student motivation, and students’ aesthetic development and artistic skills in Morocco’s primary schools. Specifically, it explores how curriculum design influences aesthetic development and artistic skills, examines the impact of aesthetic education on aesthetic development, and investigates the role of student motivation in mediating these relationships. Methodology: Using a qualitative approach, the study conducted semi-structured interviews with 25 primary school educators in Morroco to gather insights into their perspectives on curriculum design, aesthetic education, student motivation, and students’ aesthetic development and artistic skills. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the interview data, identifying key themes and patterns related to the research questions. Findings: The findings reveal intricate connections between curriculum design, aesthetic education, student motivation, and students’ aesthetic development and artistic skills. Curriculum design plays a foundational role in shaping students’ aesthetic experiences, while aesthetic education and student motivation mediate the effectiveness of curriculum interventions in promoting aesthetic development and artistic skills. Implications/Novel Contribution: This research contributes to our understanding of the complex interplay between curriculum design, aesthetic education, student motivation, and students’ aesthetic development and artistic skills in primary schools. It underscores the importance of integrating aesthetic principles into curriculum design and fostering intrinsic motivation to optimize students’ aesthetic learning experiences. The findings have implications for educational practice, policy, and research, highlighting the need for holistic approaches to arts education that nurture students’ creativity, critical thinking, and aesthetic sensibilities.

Abstract

Aim: The study focuses on research on the associative actor mobilized around the heritage issue. Coming from different associations, the speakers in the webinar that is the subject of the production of this article have multiplied the angles of analysis to explore, understand and identify the many variations of heritage. Their concern for socioeconomic development where heritage is at the center of economic activities highlights their understanding of the cultural industry. Methodology: The qualitative content and thematic analysis of the comments collected from the associative actors participating in this webinar aims to better understand the aspects of the intervention of the association actor in a cultural industry project. Heritage, this time, is literally reborn thanks to the efforts of associations, whose role is no longer passive; their experiences of heritage animation are often practiced on a small scale. Findings: In fact, the results show that knowledge of the forms, qualities, and importance of heritage preservation, as well as its market value, are currently attracting the attention of the cultural industry. Implications/Novel Contribution: The study highlights the critical role of associative actors in revitalizing heritage through grassroots cultural initiatives. Understanding heritage as an economic resource opens new pathways for sustainable cultural industry development. The findings support integrating community-based heritage animation into broader cultural policy frameworks.
