Abstract

Background: The use of pill contraceptives is still low in the Working Area of the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City with a percentage of 1.7%. Pill contraceptives are the contraceptives that have the second largest percentage of use after injectable birth control. Method:  The research population of women of childbearing age who are active as contraceptives at the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City for the period of January-August 2025 is 4,956 people. The research sample totaled 98 respondents taken by purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate analysis.  Results:  The results of the univariate analysis of 98 respondents, most of whom were 55 (56.1%) lacking knowledge, most of the respondents were 54 (55.1%) husbands who did not participate and most of the respondents 58 (59.2%) used non-pill contraception.  The results of the bivariate analysis obtained that there was a relationship between knowledge and the use of pill contraceptives in women of childbearing age in the Working Area of the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City in 2025 (p value=0.000), and there was a relationship between the role of the husband and the use of pill contraceptives in women of childbearing age in the Working Area of the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City in 2025 (p value=0.000).  Conclusion: the knowledge and role of the husband is related to the use of contraceptive pills.
