Abstract

Abstract Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a significant global health threat, with its prevalence increasing, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia. Effective blood glucose management is essential to prevent complications, and this can be achieved through the implementation of the 3J eating pattern (type, timing, and portion). Health literacy plays a crucial role in enabling patients to adopt the 3J eating pattern properly. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between health literacy and the implementation of the 3J eating pattern in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Method: A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, using univariate frequency distribution analysis and bivariate chi-square analysis. The research was conducted at Kelapa Dua Wetan Public Health Center, Ciracas, with 70 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The independent variable was health literacy, while the dependent variable was the 3J eating pattern. Results: The univariate analysis showed that 74.29% of respondents had moderate health literacy, and 74.29% demonstrated a moderate implementation of the 3J eating pattern. The bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between health literacy and the 3J eating pattern, with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between health literacy and the implementation of the 3J eating pattern in Diabetes Mellitus patients. Improving health literacy can enhance patients' ability to manage their diet effectively, ultimately helping maintain normal blood glucose levels and prevent complications.

Abstract

Organic farming is one of the proponents of food resistance, economic resilience and human health especially during the COVID 19 pandemic. The sustainability of organic farming must be supported by the availability of fertilizer, pesticides and sufficient financial capital. Ecoenzym is one of the easy and inexpensive agricultural waste fermentation products. Ecoenzyme can be one of the solutions to increase the availability of fertilizer, pesticides and can be used to reduce the economic burden due to financial spending on soap, shampoo and household hygiene. In addition, ecoenzymes are also beneficial in restoring fertility and repairing the quality of soil damaged by conventional agriculture using chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Batur Village is one of the villages with an organic farming community that is affiliated in the Minang Bangkit Merbabu farming group. Currently, the organic fertilizer used is the fertilizer and compost that comes from agricultural waste only. Its availability is highly dependent on the limited number of livestock, and not all farmers have livestock. Ecoenzyme training is one of the activities that is expected to be a solution for farmers to jointly produce fertilizer and pesticides, thus increasing the economic level of agricultural waste that is processed into ecoenzymes.
