Abstract

This study aims to electricity demand forecasting and optimize New Renewable Energy (NRE) to supply electrical energy demand in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province 2024-2034 using Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) Software, considering factors of population growth, economic growth, and government policies related utilization NRE and environment. The method used is a quantitative descriptive end-use model. High, medium, and low scenarios were added to make the research results more adaptive. Moreover, PLTD and PLTU are scenarios that will experience decreased installed capacity until 2034. The results of forecast electricity demand 2024-2034 in NTT Province, for the high scenario increased from 1,448.49 GWh to 2,018.56 GWh with average growth of 3.50%, medium scenario increased from 1,318.91 GWh to 1,595.31 GWh with average growth of 2.06%, low scenario increased from 1,200.10 GWh to 1,359.33 GWh with average growth of 1.39%. Optimization of NRE in the high, medium, and low scenarios shows that NRE can supply electricity demand until 2034.

Abstract

Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is one of the renewable energy solutions that support energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. This research is entitled “Operational Analysis of Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at GMIT Jemaat Paulus Kupang” and was conducted for four months at GMIT Jemaat Paulus Kupang. The purpose of this research is to analyze the performance and effectiveness of the rooftop solar power system installed in the church. Measurements were made using tools such as Digital Multimeter and Ampere Pliers. This research uses descriptive and quantitative methods, including literature studies, interviews with PLTS management officers, and direct measurements in the field to obtain primary and secondary data related to geographical and weather conditions. The results showed that the performance of the rooftop solar power plant decreased significantly due to factors such as solar radiation intensity, ambient temperature, and the physical condition of the solar panels and inverters. During one week, GMIT Jemaat Paulus Kupang used a total of 561.396 kWh of electrical power to meet load requirements. Of this amount, PLTS supplied 499.2468 kWh of power, while the remaining 62.1492 kWh was supplied by PLN. The excess power generated by the PLTS, because it is greater than the total load demand, is exported back to the PLN network.

Abstract

Abstract

The implementation of 25 kWp On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant at SMK Negeri 3 Kupang is expected to provide a solution to the problem of dependence on conventional energy and reduce school operational costs. Therefore, it is important to conduct an analysis of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant system at SMK Negeri 3 Kupang, in order to optimize the use of renewable energy and reduce school electricity operational costs. This study aims to determine the performance of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant and the amount of savings that occur. The research method used is a descriptive method and direct measurement of the inverter, MDP, LVMDP to measure the current and voltage to obtain the output power of the Solar Power Plant, PLN and load. The results of the study showed that the operational performance of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant can be known through the efficiency of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant at SMK Negeri 3 Kupang which was obtained with a maximum value that occurred on Saturday of 86.96%. The measurement results showed that there were savings in power and bills at SMK Negeri 3 Kupang. With savings for 7 consecutive days of 84.87%; 91.60%; 35.98%; 58.73%; 57.74%; 25.15%; 84.04%.
