Abstract

The quality of life of people with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is generally lower than that of individuals who do not experience the condition. This decrease in quality of life is caused by significant inflammation, which directly affects the physical function of the patient. This study aimed to determine to validity and reliability questionnaire knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods: This research method was conducted at Pandanarang Hospital, Boyolali, on September 4, 2024. This study used the WHOQoL BREF questionnaire, according to WHO this questionnaire is used to measure the quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Using a purposive sampling method to determine the sample. Data collection was carried out by test-retest reliability testing with a three-day interval. The final stage of the study was to analyze the validity and reliability of the questionnaire using a validity test per item and a test-retest reliability test using Cronbach's alpha, and ICC to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the measuring instrument. Results. This study involved 67 respondents. The validity test showed a high validity (r=0.949) and p<0.001. Reliability was confirmed with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.835 and an Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) of 0.974, indicating excellent reliability. Conclusion. The WHOQOL BREF questionnaire was a valid and reliable instrument for assessing the quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
