Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by interactive media in enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes in Mathematics, specifically on the topic of exponents in grade X of SMA Negeri 2 Medan. The applied PBL model is integrated with interactive media such as Wordwall and Canva. The use of these tools is intended to facilitate students in understanding abstract concepts in an engaging and interactive manner. The research results indicate an increase in students' interest and learning outcomes after the implementation of this method.

Abstract

The research on the application of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach aims to determine students' problem-solving abilities in exponent material. This study uses a problem-based learning model. The subjects of this study were class X-10 of SMA N 2 Medan consisting of 36 students. The research method is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Cycle I showed that 47% of class X-10 students were able to solve problems. Cycle II showed that 86% of class X-10 students were able to solve problems. This shows that the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach combined with differentiated learning is able to increase mathematical problem-solving abilities in exponent material by 39%. This shows a positive impact on mathematics learning.

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential so that they have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and the skills needed by themselves, society, nation and state. . Mathematics as one of the main pillars in education has a very important role in developing logical thinking and problem solving abilities. One learning that is thought to be able to improve students' ability to solve mathematical problems is problem-based learning such as Problem Based Learning (PBL) . The model is in line with the approach Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) where there is differentiation when conducting group discussions using this approach, students are expected to more easily understand mathematical concepts and be able to apply them in problem solving so that students' mathematical problem solving abilities can increase. The aim of this research is whether the PBL model and TaRL approach can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK) which was carried out at SMA Negeri 2 Medan involving 36 students in class X-11 as research subjects. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the PBL model and TaRL approach can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities as seen from the percentage in Cycle I 44% and Cycle II 81%.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Negeri 2 Medan through the application of the model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) combined with the use of Quizizz technology. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 36 class X students, with instruments in the form of observation sheets, questionnaires and tests. The research results show that the implementation of PBL assisted by Quizizz is effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes. In the first cycle, 77.78% of students showed high learning motivation, and this figure increased to 100% in the second cycle. Improvements in student learning outcomes were also seen in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects, which experienced significant increases from the first cycle to the second cycle. The PBL model allows students to be more active in learning by presenting contextual mathematical problems, so that abstract material becomes easier to understand. In addition, the use of Quizizz creates an interactive and fun learning atmosphere through game elements. This research concludes that the application of PBL assisted by Quizizz is not only able to improve student learning outcomes holistically, but also motivates them to actively participate in learning. This approach is relevant for improving the quality of mathematics learning, especially in the digital era
