Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Note Taking (GNT) method on the cognitive learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education at SDN Cluster X, Bengkulu City. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a The Matching Only Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this study consisted of all fourth-grade students at SDN 38 Bengkulu City. The sample included students of class IVB at SDN 38 Bengkulu City as the experimental group and students of class IVA at SDN 38 Bengkulu City as the control group, which were selected using cluster random sampling. The data collection technique used in this study was a pretest and posttest in the form of 10 multiple-choice questions. The results of the hypothesis testing in the experimental class showed that the t-count value using Equal Variances Assumed was -2.358, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.023, while the t-table value was 1.679. Thus, the value of t-count < t-table (-2.358 < 1.679) and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.023 < 0.05. These results indicate that there is a difference in the average scores between the experimental class and the control class caused by the different treatments given to both groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Guided Note Taking (GNT) method has a significant effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of Pancasila Education among fourth-grade students in SDN Cluster X, Bengkulu City.
