Abstract

The puerperal period is a dangerous time for the mother, because if not get the proper treatment, then it will threaten the safety of the mother own soul. One of the treatments to be performed is perineal wound care. Therefore, maternal knowledge of perineal wound care is necessary to prevent the occurrence of infections that can threaten the safety of the post-partum mother's life. The purpose of this research is to know the description of the knowledge of postpartum mothers about perineum wound care in Nifas 3 Public Hospital of Ende Area. Type of descriptive research with survey research design. The population of all postpartum mothers treated in NIFAS room 3 in February 2016, amounted to 120 people. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, so the number of samples is 36 people. The results showed that 22 people (61.1%) of post-partum mothers were sufficiently knowledgeable about the meaning and purpose of perineal wound care, and 18 people (50.0%) of post-partum mothers were less knowledgeable about the scope of treatment and time of perineal wound care and 15 people (41,7%) postpartum mothers are knowledgeable about the efforts undertaken in the treatment of perineal wound. The conclusion is that 15 people (41.7%) of postpartum mothers are knowledgeable less about perineal wound care. It is recommended that health workers always provide post-partum health education on care during the puerperium. Nurses/midwives are expected to further improve their skills and always provide friendly service. Friendly service will indirectly help to speed up the recovery process for postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Antenatal Care is a planned program in the form of observation, education and medical treatment in pregnant women, to obtain a process of pregnancy and childbirth that is safe and satisfying. The purpose of this research is to know the factors influencing the non-compliance of pregnant mother in doing Antenatal Care (ANC) visit at Rewarangga Health Center.Type of descriptive research with survey research design. The population of all pregnant women who did not make an Antenatal Care visit in January of 2016 which amounted to 60 people. The sampling technique is the total population, so the sample number is 60 people. The results of the study indicated that the educational factors influenced and also did not affect 50 people (50%) in the ANC visit, the knowledge factor influenced 54 people (90%) in the ANC visit and the occupational factors did not affect 56 people (93%) in the ANC visit, health support factors did not affect 58 people (97%) in ANC visits and husband and family support factors affected 42 people (70%) in ANC visits. The conclusion is that the knowledge factor (90%), husband and family support factor (70%) are factors influencing non-adherence of pregnant mother during Antenatal Care visit. It is recommended that health workers always provide health education to pregnant women about the importance of doing examinations during pregnancy. Nurses/midwives are expected to further improve their skills and always provide friendly service. Friendly service will indirectly increase the passion of the community in this case pregnant women to visit health facilities.

Abstract

Everyday activities are all activities done by the elderly every day. This activity is done not through effort or effort. Such activities may be bathing, dressing, eating, or mobilizing. The purpose of this research is to know the factors that influence elderly behaviour in the independence of fulfilling the needs of activities and exercises in Kelurahan Potulando. Type of descriptive research with survey research design. The population of all elderly (age ≥ 60 years old) domiciled in Potulando Urban amounted to 127 people. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, so the number of samples was 38 people. The result showed the factor of age influenced the majority behaviour of respondents (31 people or 82%) in the independence of fulfilment of activity and training needs, physiological health factors influenced the majority behaviour of respondents (25 people or 66%) in independence fulfilment activity requirement and exercises, cognitive function factors did not affect the behaviour of most respondents (35 people or 92%) in the independence of meeting the needs of activities and exercises and family environment factors did not affect the behaviour of some respondents (21 people or 55%) in the independence of meeting the needs of the activity and practice. The result of this research concluded age factor (82%) and physiological health factor (66%) is a factor influencing elderly behaviour in self-reliance in fulfilling activity and training needs in Kelurahan Potulando. It is recommended that health workers always give counselling to the elderly and family about various health problems related to the elderly.
