Abstract

This community service aims to improve the numeracy skills of elementary school students in Marendal Village through contextual mathematics-based training. The methods used in this program are lectures, discussions, and practice questions based on everyday problems. The evaluation results show an increase in students' understanding of basic mathematical concepts and an increase in their learning motivation. This activity is expected to be a model for numeracy literacy improvement programs in other areas.

Abstract

This research discusses the application of numerical methods in solving differential equations that often appear in various fields of science, such as physics, engineering and economics. The methods used include the Euler method, the Runge-Kutta method, and the finite difference method. The research results show that the fourth order Runge-Kutta method provides a higher level of accuracy than the Euler method in solving first order differential equations. In addition, the finite difference approach provides stable solutions to partial differential equations. This study confirms the importance of numerical methods in the analysis and solving of complex mathematical problems.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa Sekolah Dasar di Desa Marindal I, Kecamatan Patumbak, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, melalui pendekatan pembelajaran matematika kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, dan latihan soal berbasis masalah nyata yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar matematika serta motivasi belajar mereka. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi model implementatif bagi pengembangan literasi numerasi di wilayah lain yang memiliki tantangan serupa.
