Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the places that are blessed in the Quran by using the principles of the maqasidi interpretation methodology constructed by Abdul Mustaqim. This research uses library research that focuses on aspects of theology, history, and several other influential figures. The problem to be researched is how the theologian interpret the verses about the blessed place in the Quran, and their reading uses the maqasidi Abdul Mustaqim interpretation methodology. The results of the research show that blessings do not always have a material meaning, but also in the sense of immaterial virtues uhrawi. One of them is the blessing of places that have been informed in the Quran, including: blessings on the earth, Mecca, and Syria. Through the maqasidi Abdul Mustaqim interpretation methodology, verses about blessed places have aspects of protecting the environment (hifz al-bi'ah), and aspects of protecting the state (hifz ad-daulah) are not only protective (min haits al-'adam) but also productive/development (min haits al-wujud).

Abstract

Amid modernization, understanding the Prophet's hadiths can no longer rely solely on textual approaches. This study explores the methodological models offered by Abdul Mustaqim, Nizar Ali, and Nurun Najwah. What are their similarities and differences, and how can a new methodology be constructed to meet contemporary challenges? This qualitative research adopts a descriptive-comparative approach. Primary data were sourced from the works of these three scholars and major hadith collections, while secondary data were derived from relevant literature on hadith methodology. The analysis was conducted by comparing their theories and interpretative strategies. The findings reveal that all three employ auxiliary sciences in hadith interpretation, albeit with different emphases. Mustaqim advocates for an interconnection paradigm (socio-historical, anthropological, medical), Nizar Ali proposes six interdisciplinary approaches, while Najwah focuses on historical and hermeneutical methods. Based on this analysis, the author proposes a new method called al-Jam‘u wa al-Ikhtisar, combining linguistic, socio-historical, and scientific approaches as a comprehensive and contextually relevant strategy for hadith interpretation in the modern era.
