Abstract

In differentiated learning, improving mathematical literacy skills and understanding adversity quotient in students is very important to create an effective learning process, where students are not only recipients of information, but are able to think critically, adapt, and contribute their ideas. The implementation of this study aims to identify the mathematical literacy profile of grade VII H SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja consisting of 36 students for the 2024/2025 school year reviewed from the adversity quotient level. The method used is qualitative descriptive by grouping students into three types, namely climbers, campers and quitters. In selecting subjects, it is carried out based on the value of the adversity quotient questionnaire or adversity response profile (ARP) and consideration from the teacher (purposive sampling). In collecting data, an adversity quotient questionnaire, written test questions regarding mathematical literacy skills, and interviews were carried out with the selected subjects. The analysis of the data uses data reduction from the results of written tests and interviews, the presentation of data from the analysis results and the conclusion of conclusions. The results were analyzed using source triangulation based on the process in mathematical literacy, namely formulating, employing, and interpretating mathematical concepts in various contexts. The results of the study showed that 1) Students with the climbers type have been able to carry out the process of formulating, employing, and interpretating in solving mathematical literacy problems; 2) Students with the camper type have been able to carry out the process of formulating, employing, and interpretating in the process of solving mathematical literacy problems; and 3) Students with the quitter type are only able to carry out the formulation process in solving mathematical literacy problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy skills and Adversity Quotient (AQ) of students with the Climbers type. Mathematical literacy is an essential skill in modern education that enables students to understand and apply mathematical concepts in everyday activities. Meanwhile, Adversity Quotient represents a person's ability to face and overcome obstacles. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach involving 36 students from seventh grade at SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja as research subjects. Data were collected through the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire, written tests on mathematical literacy skills, and interviews with the research subjects. The findings indicate that Climbers type students possess high mathematical literacy skills, supported by a high Adversity Quotient. They are capable of formulating information, employing problem-solving strategies, and explaining the results obtained. The study concludes that Climbers type students have good mathematical literacy skills and suggests that further research be conducted to explore learning media that can support the learning process for Climbers type students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan literasi statistik dalam perspektif Adversity Quotient (AQ) pada peserta didik. LLiterasi statistic adalah suatu kemampuan yang diperlukan oleh setiap individu untuk dapat memahami informasi secara tepat, dengan kemampuan literasi statistic yang baik, peserta didik akan dapat menyelesaikan masalah yang sederhana maupun kompleks berdasarkan fakta dari informasi yang ada sehingga tidak mudah terbawa opini. Sementara itu, Adversity Quotient mewakili kemampuan seorang individu dalam upaya merespon dan mengatasi rintangan. Studi ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif terhadap subjek penelitian yang berjumlah 36 peserta didik yang berada  di kelas VII I di SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket Adversity Response Profile (ARP), tes tertulis mengenai kemampuan literasi matematis, dan hasil wawancara subjek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik tipe climber memiliki kemampuan literasi statistik yang lebih unggul dibandingkan peserta didik tipe camper dan quitter. Tipe climber unggul dalam orientasi dan interpretasi data, serta dapat menjalankan proses literasi statistik secara sistematis. Sementara itu, tipe camper menunjukkan kemampuan baik dalam orientasi dan pemrosesan data, namun tipe quitter memiliki kemampuan literasi statistik yang rendah, ditandai dengan kesulitan dalam memahami informasi dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. Peneliti menyarankan agar studi lebih lanjut dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi media pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang proses pembelajaran bagi peserta didik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi statistik berdasarkantingkat adversity quotient.Kata Kunci: 1 Literasi Statistik; 2 Adversity Quotient

Abstract

Enhancing Statistical Literacy Using ChatGPT-Assisted E-Worksheets: A Differentiated Learning Approach Based on Adversity Quotient. Objective: The research aims to develop an innovative, ChatGPT-assisted e-worksheet in differentiated learning that meets valid, practical, and effective criteria to enhance students' statistical literacy skills. Methods: The study involved 98 grade VII junior high school students. The research and development method adopted the 4D design, consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. Data were collected by interviews, observations, questionnaires, and statistical literacy tests. Data analysis employed descriptive statistics and inferential tests, including mean values, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and ANCOVA tests. The learning design includes experimental and control classes. Both classes were taken using a simple random sampling technique. Findings: The results indicated that the ChatGPT-assisted e-worksheet met the standards of validity and practicality. The validity experts obtained a validity score of 94.27%, which falls within the valid category, and the practicality test achieved a score of 84.21%, which is categorized as practical. In addition, the e-worksheet product ChatGPT is effective in improving statistical literacy skills. The results of the statistical literacy ability test met the normality and homogeneity criteria, and the ANCOVA test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant effect. The results confirm that the experimental class achieved higher statistical literacy scores than the control class. Conclusion: The e-worksheet product effectively improved learning achievement, particularly in literacy and statistics skills. The e-worksheet was developed according to the learning needs of students, specifically those with the adversity quotient (AQ) type. Each type of AQ climber, camper, and quitter has a different worksheet, making it easier for students to learn. The AQ differentiated approach resulted in a significant increase in literacy scores. ChatGPT-assisted e-worksheet could be applied in statistical learning as an educational technology innovation that enhances student achievement. The learning atmosphere becomes more fun and meaningful for students.    Keywords: chatgpt, differentiated learning, e-worksheet, statistical literacy skills.
