Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in cultivating modern entrepreneurial ventures and understanding the specific business units developed at Pesantren Roudlotun Nafi’iyah Tempel. Islamic boarding schools are recognized as institutions with potential for fostering an entrepreneurial culture, emphasizing the development of religiously devout and independent individuals, in line with entrepreneurship programs. Entrepreneurial skills are crucial in pesantren to ensure that students are not only competent in religious matters but also economically self-reliant, contributing significantly to the economy by fostering entrepreneurs among the students. With numerous pesantren and a large student population, these institutions hold strategic potential to support national economic development, particularly through the growth of modern industrial entrepreneurship. The research methodology employed in this study is qualitative, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation at Pesantren Roudlotun Nafi’iyah Tempel. Findings indicate that Pesantren Roudlotun Nafi’iyah Tempel plays a significant role in cultivating modern entrepreneurial ventures, establishing various business units such as garment manufacturing, workshops, and student-run shops, engaging students and the community through entrepreneurship programs to enhance their well-being and create employment opportunities. Student involvement in entrepreneurship at Pesantren Roudlotun Nafi’iyah Tempel has successfully educated alumni to establish their own businesses

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keadaan di Jawa Timur, perkebunan kopi telah menjadi pilar utama dalam memajukan perekonomian daerah dan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Namun, masyarakat di Desa Sumberduren masih banyak yang menjual hasil panen kopinya dalam bentuk gelondongan basah. Dengan melihat sumber daya alam kopi yang melimpah, apalagi kopi kini telah menjadi andalan di Jawa Timur, maka perlu adanya inovasi dalam pengolahan produk agar dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah produk kopi dan harga jual produk kopi. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Bagaimana dampak kontribusi usahatani kopi dalam meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat Desa Sumberduren. (2) Bagaimana tingkat pendapatan masyarakat Desa Sumberduren, Kec. Krucil, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Pendekatan ini merupakan prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari organisasi dan perilaku yang diamati dan diarahkan pada latar alamiah dan individu secara utuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi pertanian kopi dalam meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat di Desa Sumberduren memberikan dampak yang luas. Secara ekonomi, usaha ini menjadi sumber pendapatan utama masyarakat Desa Sumberduren, Kec. Krucil, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Kata Kunci: Kontribusi pertanian kopi, tingkat pendapatan masyarakat

Abstract

This study is grounded in the limited comprehensive research that integrates Islamic theological perspectives with modern educational theory in addressing gender education, despite the fact that gender inequality and stereotypes in Islamic educational institutions significantly influence character formation, social justice, and students' learning opportunities. The aim of this research is to formulate a conceptual framework for gender education rooted in Islamic values of justice such as ‘adalah (justice) and musawah (equality), integrated with critical and constructivist pedagogical approaches. A qualitative method with a library research approach was employed, utilizing primary sources such as the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as secondary references including classical and contemporary tafsir, literature on Islamic gender thought, academic journals, and educational theory. Data analysis was conducted through thematic content analysis to identify key patterns in the texts. The findings reveal that Islam, in its essence, rejects gender subordination and emphasizes justice and equitable partnership between men and women. However, in practice, Islamic education remains influenced by patriarchal cultures and gender-biased normative interpretations. Modern educational theory, particularly critical pedagogy offers a methodological framework to reconstruct Islamic understandings toward more just and transformative outcomes. The study concludes that synthesizing Islamic gender justice principles with critical pedagogy is essential for building an Islamic educational system responsive to gender equity. The implications include the development of justice-based curricula, gender-sensitive teacher training, and the expansion of inclusive education research agendas in Islamic schools.
