Abstract

To spread the good news, young people must demonstrate their identity as followers of Christ. This requires maturity, but obstacles to building maturity in young people exist, often due to their selfish attitudes. This attitude can hinder their ability to engage in dialogue with those holding different beliefs. Therefore, it is essential to provide coaching for young people to cultivate an open attitude in dialogue. With an open attitude, young people can develop the potential to establish cooperative relationships with people of different faiths. This research seeks insights into the Church's perspectives on fostering an open attitude in dialogue. The author relies on library resources to conduct this research, primarily focusing on the book "Religious Dialogue in the View of the Catholic Church." From this research, the author identifies the key values necessary to foster an open attitude in dialogue, which include honesty, sincerity, humility, and self-control. These four aspects will serve as the themes for the sacrament of confirmation catechesis activity program.

Abstract

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Prayer Fellowship is a movement that encourages a more profound Christian faith experience within the Indonesian Catholic Church. Despite the hierarchy's support, concerns have been raised regarding this movement's theological alignment and prayer practices with traditional Catholic teachings. This research aims to investigate the Youth Catholic Charismatic Renewal Prayer Fellowship of St. Maria-Tangerang Parish, focusing on their spiritual foundation and efforts to align with Catholic traditions. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, this study relies on interviews and direct observations conducted with the administrators and members of the Youth Catholic Charismatic Renewal Prayer Fellowship. The findings indicate that the group's prayer activities are rooted in the spirit of The First Christian Church while maintaining consistency with Catholic traditions such as the Rosary Prayer. The analysis concludes that the biblical, theological, and traditional foundations of the Youth Catholic Charismatic Renewal Prayer Fellowship in the Tangerang Parish are Catholic teachings.

Abstract

Spread Covid-19 local, national, and global scales, have yet to finish. The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted many aspects of human social life significantly. This study aims to describe the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on metropolitan Christians' faith expression and how they keep their Christian character in this situation. Based on Salvifici Doloris Ensiclic, Pope John Paul II instructed Christians to have true faith and a new mindset. When Christians are in famines and pestilences, run into earthquakes in various places, or are snared in war, or a pandemic situation, in that case, they should be more focused on God's direction, and His Will and have a deep relationship with Him. The message of John Paul II, in Salvifici Doloris Ensiclic, is clear that Christians need to have true hope, love, and strong faith. Saint Luke (The Gospel of Luke chapter 21) tough that Christ's disciples need to have seven characters. These characters are the face of the early Church to now Church. To support this study, the researcher designed and did online field research using google Forms as a research instrument or tool for getting data. The research subjects are Jakarta Dioces Christians as metropolitan people. The researcher used quantitative data (percentage) and descriptive analysis techniques. So, the researcher changes quantitative data to become qualitative. The result of this research is that the Covid-19 pandemic significantly impacted the faith expression of metropolitan Christians. The pandemic impacted the way Christians treated others and expressed their faith. This pandemic built Christian values and characters of metropolitan Christians to become better than before. Metropolitan Christians are braver in helping others. They are more responsible toward others who are hungry and suffering. They are more expressive in faith, more open and loving each other, more robust in faith, and more settled in God's word. They have more creative thinking in creating the solution.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the “Guest Teacher” program in X-School of Tangerang, (2) describe students’, Parents’, and Teachers’ understanding of and support of The Guest Teacher Program. Respondents in this study were students, teachers and parents who participated in the Guest Teacher program. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. This research employs the descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that the guest teacher program, which is implemented by X-School of Tangerang for 6th graders, is 1st aimed at creating a web building between the school, alumni, and parents. 2nd the aim of this program is to a school promotion media. This program has impacted students’ attitudes.

Abstract

The reality of the Indonesian nation as a pluralistic nation is a positive thing. However, in the reality of the dynamics of today's society, the positive value of plurality is harmed by conflicts between adherents of religion, ethnicity, race, and class. In responding to this situation, the younger generation, especially elementary school-aged children in grade VI or early teens as part of the community, need to be educated from an early age so that they have an attitude of tolerance, openness, mutual respect, and respect for diversity in society or called religious moderation. The idea of religious moderation is understanding religious differences and not being extreme in religion. The purpose of writing this thesis is to find and analyze the ideas of religious moderation from the main sourcebooks and other sources; apply the principles of religious moderation, especially tolerance, in the lives of Indonesia's young generation. This research method is the literature review. The main book studied is the Religious Moderation book written by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The findings or results of the author's research show that one of the basics in religious moderation is active tolerance.

Abstract

Recognising the unique needs of Deaf friends, who often struggle with sensory, communication, behavioural, and activity constraints, is crucial. In interaction, conflicts arising from misunderstandings may occur, which lead to various negative emotions such as anger, hatred, silence, avoidance, gossip, and dissatisfaction. This study addresses the challenge of fostering a forgiving attitude among Efata’s community members through effective visual-based catechesis. Using images, dramas, videos, and sign language, this method is more effective in conveying a message of forgiveness. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and literary studies. The subject of the investigation is a friend of Tuli in the Rawamangun Parish community. Based on the investigation obtained data that Tuli Efata's community members do not understand the meaning of the attitude of forgiveness. Through the visual-based catechesis, Tuli's friends are easier to understand, feel, and be inspired, and otivated through visual media such as video, images, inspiring and meaningful forgiveness. Abstract

This article explores the idea of improving the quality of education in the modern era by referring to Jacob Bronowski's thoughts in chapter II: The Harvest of the Seasons contained in the book The Ascent of Man. From the study of this chapter, the researcher found an interesting idea that deserves to be studied more deeply, namely about human development through discovery, creativity, and intellectual ability in The Harvest of The Seasons. This study provides a relevant perspective in the current educational context. As a conclusion from the results of the literature study supported by field studies, Bronowski's approach to human intellectual development at that time can be applied in the modern education system to face the challenges of the digital era and globalization. This study highlights three main perspective of Bronowski, namely: (1) Individual skills of learners grow and develop through an effective and efficient learning process; (2) Improving the learning process and adapting technology that continues to develop; and (3) The quality of education that can improve social welfare. These three points of thought can be used as the basis for the modern pedagogy paradigm, namely for the renewal of the curriculum and teaching methods that are more adaptive and relevant to the needs of the times. The results of this research are expected to contribute to developing an educational model that can improve the intellectual quality of students and prepare them to play an active role in the knowledge society.

Abstract

Autistic individuals often face discrimination and social isolation in the environment. To unlock their potential and encourage physical and emotional development, they need ongoing exceptional support using various supportive media (Inclusive faith education). This research answers the problem of how inclusive education for autistic children is developed through various suiTabel media, one of which is painting media. Painting can serve as a suiTabel medium for faith education for these children. This is important to adjust to the child's level of autism. The expression of faith is unique and often contains artistic value. The process of faith education can be adapted to accommodate individuals with different levels of thinking, feeling, and acting abilities. Through painting activities, autistic children can express their faith and trust in Christ, using their unique strengths and limitations. Researcher used a qualitative descriptive method, focusing on a group of autistic children and their parents/companions. The data collection technique included observation of 17 autistic children and interviews with 17 parents and two companions to support the research objectives. Observation focuses on the expression of children's thoughts and feelings in the form of paintings after receiving short-simple teaching. The interview focuses on introducing children's characters based on the views of parents and companions. The study's findings show that before autistic children are actively involved in the faith education process, parents and companions (catechists) are important to understand each child's interests and potential. Painting activities are not necessarily suiTabel for all types or levels of autism. Parents and catechists are important in designing faith education content for their children according to their needs and circumstances.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pentingnya membangun tiga pilar komitmen, kepuasan, dan loyalitasguru dalam meningkatkan kinerja di lembaga pendidikan Katolik, mengacu pada paradigma pembelajaran organisasi Peter Senge. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana ketiga pilar ini dapat diintegrasikan dalam praktik pendidikan untuk mendorong kinerja guru yang lebih baik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan metode kuantitatif. Survei dilakukan terhadap guru di enam Sekolah Katolik untuk mengukur jumlah guru yang memiliki komitmen, kepuasan kerja, dan loyalitas. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan google form dan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis dekriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingginya jumlah guru yang memiliki komitmen kuat berkontribusi pada kepuasan kerja yang lebih baik, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan loyalitas guru terhadap institusi. Selain itu, penerapan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran organisasi Senge, seperti visi bersama dan pembelajaran berkelanjutan, telah terbukti memperkuat ketiga pilar tersebut. Temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi pengelola lembaga pendidikan Katolik untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung pengembangan komitmen, kepuasan, dan loyalitas guru sebagai langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kinerja kelembagaan.

Abstract

Faith education (read: catechesis) today is experiencing various challenges due to the changing times that are increasingly related to technology (digitalization). The catechists are invited to be clever as snakes and sincere like doves (Mat10:16) so that they are still able to instill and proclaim faith along with the demands of the times. Adjustment of methods in the catechesis is an initial step that needs to be implemented so that the proclamation of faith is not dead by digitalization. In addition, the increasing number of Church members needs to be accompanied by adequate assistance from catechists and pastors. This becomes an urgency in proclaiming faith in the midst of the strong flow of information in digital society that can erode faith in Christ. Concern over the problem of strengthening and developing the faith of the people needs to be of particular concern to the Church. The solution that can be offered through this research is the online mistagogical catechesis program as an alternative method to answer challenges and needs in strengthening and proclaiming faith
