Abstract

Abstract

The occupational safety and health (K3) conditions of companies in Indonesia are estimated to be quite low, this can be seen from the high risk of accidents that can occur in a company. Work accidents occur due to workers, work tools and the work environment, so it is necessary to implement occupational safety and health (K3) in carrying out mining activities. Safety and health factors are very important because they have a big influence on employees, society and also company assets. The aim of this research is to look at the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety in coal transportation at PT Lematang Coal Lestari. The method used in this research was field observation in the form of visits and direct field observations as well as data collection in the form of interviews or surveys. The research results showed that from the 8 questionnaire questions given to 5 respondents, PT Lematang Coal Lestari (LCL) employees received very good responses. Keywords: Occupational Health and Safety, Transportation, Coal.

Abstract

This study discusses the control of acid mine drainage (AMD) using quicklime (CaO) in the AL-14 (Taman) Sludge Settling Pond (KPL) at the Air Laya Mine site of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. Acid mine drainage is waste formed due to the oxidation of sulfide minerals, which can degrade water quality and damage the environment. This study aims to analyze the AMD control system, determine the ideal dosage of quicklime, calculate liming costs, and identify factors that influence daily lime requirements. The research method used is an experimental and observational approach, including laboratory tests using the jar test method and direct observations in the field during the period of April 28 to June 30, 2025. Tests were conducted on acid mine drainage samples with varying doses of quicklime (0–0.5 gr/L) to determine the optimum dose for increasing pH and reducing TSS. The test results showed that the ideal dose of quicklime to increase pH from 5.20 to the standard range (6–9) is between 0.1121–0.2812 gr/L, with an actual requirement of approximately 5 sacks/day. However, field usage reached an average of 10 sacks/day, causing cost overruns of up to Rp 381,600,000/month. The main factors influencing lime requirements are rainfall and runoff flow. This study provides recommendations for the implementation of an automatic monitoring system and blending system to improve the efficiency of AAT processing and reduce chemical waste.

Abstract

DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) is the primary genetic material responsible for heredity, regulation of cellular activities, and protein synthesis through DNA replication and gene expression. This study aims to review the roles of DNA, DNA replication, and gene expression in supporting the success of animal genetic engineering. The method employed was a literature review of national and international scientific publications from 2016 to 2023 obtained through Google Scholar using keywords related to genetic engineering, animal biotechnology, and DNA replication. The results indicate that recombinant DNA technology and transgenesis have successfully improved productivity, product quality, and disease resistance in animals, such as transgenic fish expressing growth hormone genes and transgenic goats overexpressing antithrombin III (ATIII). DNA replication ensures the stability of modified genetic traits, while gene expression determines the successful production of functional proteins. However, the application of animal genetic engineering requires careful consideration of biosafety, ethics, animal welfare, and environmental impacts. Overall, a comprehensive understanding of DNA molecular mechanisms supports the sustainable development of animal biotechnology.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) implemented by PT. Golden Great Borneo (GGB) in 2024 aligns with the actual needs of communities in the Ring 1 area, specifically Prabumenang and Banjarsari Villages, East Merapi District, Lahat Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research combines analysis of official program documents and field observations with a structured Likert-scale survey involving 40 purposively selected beneficiaries. The study assesses eight core domains mandated in PPM guidelines: education, health, real income, economic independence, socio-religious-cultural aspects, environment, community institutions, and infrastructure. Findings show that the program received moderate appreciation from the community, with average perception scores ranging from 3.5 to 3.7. While education, health, and infrastructure were positively valued, key issues remain in benefit equity, long-term sustainability, and participatory implementation. The study contributes a novel, integrative assessment model combining community perception data with program alignment analysis. It concludes that future PPM efforts should adopt a more impact-oriented, community-driven approach, particularly by strengthening environmental programs, preventive health initiatives, post-training support, and local institutional capacity to ensure sustainable development in mining-affected regions.
