Abstract

The digital era has both positive and negative influences on teenagers' self-identity and potential development. Leadership is one of the crucial potentials in teenagers that needs to be nurtured. Mentoring emphasizes the relational aspect between Mentor and Mentee as one of the alternative methods for developing teenagers' potentials. This research aims to describe the implementation of motivation in the mentoring process and to illustrate the impact of motivation provision through mentoring on the development of teenage leadership potential. The research method utilized qualitative methods, with the subjects being teenagers participating in the Future Center program in Ringin Sari Village, Banjar Margo District, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research, motivation provision through mentoring, such as encouragement, praise, rewards, and punishment, has an impact on enhancing teenage leadership development in terms of visionary attitude, initiative, proactivity, and integrity. Mentors play a crucial role in building teenagers' leadership potential. Therefore, it is important for Mentors to continuously improve the quality of applying motivational principles in the mentoring process.AbstrakEra digital memberi pengaruh positif dan negatif terhadap identitas diri remaja dan pengembangan potensinya. Kepemimpinan merupakan salah satu potensi remaja yang penting untuk dikembangkan. Mentoring menekankan relational antara Mentor dan Mentee menjadi salah satu alternatif pengembangan potensi remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan motivasi dalam proses mentoring, dan mendeskripsikan dampak pemberian motivasi melalui mentoring terhadap perkembangan potensi kepemimpinan remaja. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif, subjek penelitian yaitu remaja peserta program Future Center di Desa Ringin Sari, Kecamatan Banjar Margo, Kabupaten Tulang Bawang, Provinsi Lampung. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan penelitian, pemberian motivasi melalui proses mentoring berupa pemberian dorongan, pujian, reward, dan punishment, berdampak terhadap peningkatan perkembangan kepemimpinan remaja ditinjau dalam hal sikap visioner, inisiatif, proaktif, dan integritas remaja. Mentor memiliki peran penting membangun potensi kepemimpinan remaja. Oleh sebab itu penting Mentor terus meningkatkan kualitas dalam menerapkan prinsip-prinsip pemberian motivasi dalam proses mentoring.

Abstract

The 2021 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) found a high rate of early marriage in West Kalimantan. Field findings suggest that the high number of early marriages is due to: perceived age, dropping out, promiscuity, unproductive youth activities, and the relative ease of holding traditional and religious marriages. The people of Inggut Hamlet and its surrounding areas face various social challenges, including rising rates of early marriage, promiscuity, and educational concepts that are inadequate in shaping the character and preparedness of young people and parents for the future. The purpose of this study was to describe early marriage and its problems in Inggut Hamlet, as well as the urgency of holding parenting seminars as a preventative measure. The study used qualitative descriptive methods with a phenomenological approach. The results concluded: first, many young couples in Inggut marry without the necessary skills to care for, educate, and raise children. Second, empowering parents on childcare through a five-day Parenting Seminar and KKR (Spiritual Revival Service) yielded significant results. Nearly all parents and children (teenagers and youth) representing approximately 66 families (150 people) enthusiastically attended the event. Third, seminar participants decided to send their children to college and prohibit early marriage. Fourth, parents desire change in Inggut Hamlet. This means that empowering parents through parenting seminars and KKR is urgently needed to reform the paradigm of marriage and childrearing. It should no longer be based on traditional culture and customs, but rather on the physical, psychological, and spiritual maturity of the children.AbstrakHasil Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional (Susenas) 2021, kasus pernikahan usia dini di Kalimantan Barat tinggi. Temuan di lapangan penyebab tingginya pernikahan usia adalah: dianggap telah cukup umur, drop out, pergaulan bebas, aktivitas remaja yang tidak produktif, serta relatif mudahnya menyelenggarakan perkawinan adat maupun secara agama. Masyarakat Dusun Inggut dan sekitarnya menghadapi berbagai tantangan sosial. Antara lain: meningkatnya angka pernikahan usia dini, pergaulan bebas, serta konsep pendidikan yang kurang tepat dalam membentuk karakter dan kesiapan anak muda serta orang tua menghadapi masa depan. Tujuan penelitian menggambarkan pernikahan usia dini dan permasalahannya di dusun Inggut serta urgensi seminar parenting sebagai upaya pencegahan pernikahan usia dini. Penelitian menggunakan metode Kualitatif Deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Berdasar hasil penelitian disimpulkan: pertama, banyak pasangan usia muda di Inggut menikah tanpa bekal ketrampilan merawat, mendidik, dan mengasuh anak. Kedua, pemberdayaan orang tua tentang pengasuhan anak yang dilakukan dalam bentuk Seminar Parenting dan KKR (Kebaktian Kebangunan Rohani) selama lima hari memeroleh hasil signifikan. Hampir semua orang tua dan anak (remaja dan pemuda) kurang lebih 66 Kepala Keluarga (150 jiwa) menghadiri acara dengan antusias. Ketiga, peserta seminar memutuskan untuk menyekolahkan anak sampai kuliah, dan melarang untuk menikah usia dini. Keempat, orang tua menginginkan perubahan terjadi di dusun Inggut. Artinya, pemberdayaan orang tua melalui seminar parenting dan KKR urgen dilakukan agar paradigma tentang pernikahan dan pengasuhan anak dibarui. Tidak lagi berdasarkan budaya dan kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang berlaku turun-temurun di masyarakat tetapi karena secara fisik, psikis, dan spiritual sudah matang.
