Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce learning products in the form of Big Book media based on the Paired Story Telling model on valid, practical, and effective English material. This development research uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) design. The subjects of the study were 26 students of grade 5 of SDN Jagalan 5 Kediri. The data collection instruments used included: (1) student response questionnaires to measure the practicality of the media, (2) validation questionnaires for material experts and design experts to assess the validity of the media, and (3) learning outcome tests to measure the effectiveness of the media. The results of the analysis of the student response questionnaire showed that the Big Book media obtained a validity score of 90% with the category "Very Eligible", based on 10 assessed indicators. The validation of material experts produced an average score of 3.7, and the validation of design experts obtained an average score of 3.6, both indicating that the media is valid in terms of content and appearance. The learning test results showed that 23 out of 26 students (88.8%) achieved learning completion, with an average class score of 82.8%, exceeding the minimum completion limit of 75%. Although there were 3 students (11.2%) who had not completed it, these results indicate that the Big Book media based on Paired Story Telling is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Overall, this study concludes that the developed learning media is feasible, practical, and effective for use in learning English at the elementary school level.
