Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the Problem Based Learning (PBM) method in learning history at SMPN 3 Peureulak. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through class observations, interviews with history teachers, and analysis of learning materials. The research participants consisted of two history teachers and 30 class VIII students of SMPN 3 Peureulak. The results showed that history teachers had designed student-centered learning activities by introducing complex historical issues and encouraging students to gather evidence and analyze historical information. The Problem-Based Learning Approach (PBM) in history learning at SMPN 3 Peureulak also has an impact on students, namely: increasing understanding of historical concepts, increasing student involvement, developing critical thinking skills, improving collaboration and communication skills, and introducing multiple perspectives.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the impact of teacher training on the application of technology in teaching at SMPN 3 Peureulak schools. A qualitative approach was used in this research, by conducting interviews and observations of teachers who had taken technology training. The research results show that teacher training has a positive impact on increasing their understanding and skills in utilizing technology in the classroom. Teachers who have undergone training tend to be more innovative in designing and implementing learning, creating a learning environment that is more dynamic and responsive to student needs. Thus, this research contributes to further understanding of the importance of teacher training in the context of technology implementation in junior high schools. The implications of these findings can be the basis for developing more effective policies and training programs, so that they can continue to improve the quality of education at SMPN 3 Peureulak through optimal use of technology in teaching.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning achievement of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Peureulak through the application of the STAD (Student Team Achievement Divisions) model. This cooperative learning model emphasizes cooperation in groups to achieve common goals. This research involves the process of group formation, explanation of material, division of tasks, monitoring, group evaluation, appreciation, reflection, and continuous learning. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK) which involved one class VIII as the research subject. The research results show a significant increase in student learning achievement after implementing the STAD model. Forming groups with a diversity of student abilities, dividing tasks that require cooperation, and group evaluations provide positive contributions to student academic achievement. Increasing student learning achievement is also supported by parental involvement and consistent implementation of the STAD model in the curriculum. In the learning process, students not only develop a deep understanding of concepts but also social skills and teamwork. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the development of more effective learning strategies in the educational environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan upaya penerapan pendidikan karakter di SMPN 3 Peureulak. Pendidikan karakter merupakan elemen penting dalam membentuk kepribadian siswa yang berintegritas, tangguh, dan memiliki akhlak mulia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif lapangan, yang mengambil lokasi di SMPN 3 Peureulak. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah sumber data primer dan sekunder. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisa data yg digunakan adalah reduksi data, display data seta verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan, untuk uji keabsahan mengguakan trianggulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penerapan Pendidikan Karakter di SMPN 3 Peureulak sudah bagus hingga peserta didik dapat terbentuk menjadi insan yang berakhlakul karimah, mandiri, jujur, peduli sahabat, toleransi, peduli sosial, sikap demokratis, bertanggung jawab, peduli lingkungan dan religius. Walaupun tidak semua peserta didik mempunyai karakter yang baik dengan adanya peraturan sekolah dan pendidik. (2) Faktor penghambat sekolah dalam upaya penerapan pendidikan karakter di SMPN 3 Peureulak adalah sarana dan prasarana yang kurang memadai, yaitu gedung yang kurang proposional, faktor lingkungan yang kurang kondusif sehingga tidak terdukungnya program kegiatan sekolah, kondisi siswa yang kurang memahami nilai-nilai karakter dan adanya pengaruh negatif dari dunia luar sehingga siswa merasakan malas dalam kegaiatan.
