Abstract

Digital health literacy (DHL) is a fundamental determinant of individuals’ ability to navigate, assess, and utilize online health information effectively. This study examines the systemic factors influencing DHL outcomes, the role of public health institutions in mitigating literacy disparities, and the implications for healthcare accessibility. A systematic review methodology was employed, analyzing literature from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The findings highlight that healthcare policies, education systems, and cultural factors shape individuals’ digital health competencies. While digital health interventions improve access to health information, barriers such as misinformation, digital divides, and disparities in digital competencies persist. Public health institutions play a critical role in addressing these challenges through structured education programs, policy advocacy, and targeted community engagement initiatives. The study underscores the necessity of integrating digital health literacy training into educational curricula, professional development for healthcare providers, and public health campaigns to enhance equitable healthcare access. Future research should focus on evaluating DHL interventions, standardizing assessment frameworks, and exploring strategies to combat misinformation in digital health contexts. Improving digital health literacy is essential for empowering individuals, enhancing patient engagement, and fostering more inclusive digital healthcare environments.

Abstract

Stigma associated with infectious diseases presents a significant barrier to healthcare access, treatment adherence, and overall well-being. This study systematically examines the psychological, social, economic, and healthcare-related consequences of stigma, emphasizing its impact on individuals diagnosed with HIV, tuberculosis, and COVID-19. A comprehensive literature review was conducted across multiple academic databases, focusing on peer-reviewed studies published within the last ten years. Findings indicate that stigma contributes to heightened mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and social isolation, while also negatively influencing employment and healthcare-seeking behaviors. Systemic factors, including policy deficiencies, cultural beliefs, and media representation, further perpetuate stigma and hinder effective intervention efforts. Successful stigma-reduction programs highlight the importance of community engagement, educational campaigns, and healthcare provider training in fostering a more inclusive environment for affected individuals. The study underscores the necessity of policy reforms that protect patient confidentiality and promote non-discriminatory healthcare practices. Future research should explore culturally specific interventions and longitudinal assessments of stigma-related experiences to enhance public health strategies. Addressing stigma requires a multifaceted approach integrating policy, education, and community-driven initiatives to improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals with infectious diseases.

Abstract

Effective waste management is crucial for maintaining environmental health and sustainability. This study examines the key challenges and potential solutions in waste management, particularly in developing regions, where inadequate infrastructure, weak regulations, and low public awareness contribute to environmental degradation. Using a systematic literature review, data from peer reviewed sources were analyzed to identify prevailing waste management issues and strategies. The findings indicate that ineffective waste policies and limited technological integration exacerbate waste related challenges, leading to increased pollution and public health risks. Emerging solutions, including the adoption of IoT based waste tracking systems, advanced recycling technologies, and policy driven economic incentives, show promise in enhancing waste management efficiency. The study underscores the need for a collaborative approach involving governments, industries, and communities to achieve sustainable waste management. The implications of this research suggest that strengthening regulations, investing in infrastructure, and promoting public education on waste reduction are essential steps toward sustainability. Future research should explore the long term impact of waste management strategies and assess cross regional policy implementations. By integrating technology and policy reforms, waste management can contribute significantly to environmental conservation and improved public health outcomes
