Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan Student Facilitator and Explaining dan Reciprocal Teaching terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam. Sampel pada penelitian ini 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yaitu tes berbentuk uraian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji F, didapat nilai dan . Diketahui bahwa nilai , ini membuktikan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diajarkan dengan Student Facilitator and Explaning lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan Reciprocal Teaching. Abstrak This study aims to determine the comparison between Student Facilitator and Explaining and Reciprocal Teaching on critical thinking skills. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population is all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Lubuk Pakam. The sample in this study was 2 classes, namely class VIII-A and VIII-B. The instrument used to determine the critical ability of students in conducting experiments. Based on the results of the F test analysis, obtained F value = 5.334 and F table = 4.007. It is known that F value > F table, this proves that critical thinking skills taught by Student Facilitator and Explaning are better than students taught by Reciprocal Teaching.
