<![CDATA[Marked by the closure of retailers and facilities such as cinemas, department stores, and food courts¸ making Metropolis Town Square Mall one of the shopping centers in Jabodetabek that experienced placelessness. The existence of a pandemic has also exacerbated the existing conditions, but after the pandemic has ended, the condition of the mall has not improved. The factors that cause placelessness are intense competition with other shopping centers, the development of e-commerce that is dominating, the lack of difference with other shopping centers, and the existence of vacant land on the site that is not used effectively. So that the impact obtained is that the Metropolis Town Square Mall has decreased attractiveness and visitors who come and resulted in many facilities in the mall that are no longer functioning or closed. Because of this, the research is expected to provide an intervention to revive, maximize the potential of the site and make the location back into place. Strategies that can be implemented are analyzing the target users around the site, using architectural approaches and methods, and promoting sustainability so that the building can last for a long time. Through the contextual architecture approach, the project produces a sports center by utilizing vacant land on the site to function more effectively. The resulting design proposal is expected to make the Metropolis Town Square Mall a place again. Keywords: contextual; mall; placelessness; sports center Abstrak Ditandai dengan ditutupnya retail-retail dan fasilitas seperti bioskop, department store, hingga foodcourt membuat Mall Metropolis Town Square menjadi salah satu pusat perbelanjaan di Jabodetabek yang mengalami placelessness. Adanya pandemi pun memperparah kondisi yang ada, namun setelah pandemi sudah berakhir kondisi mall pun belum membaik. Faktor-faktor penyebab placelessness tersebut berupa persaingan yang ketat dengan pusat perbelanjaan lain, perkembangan e-commerce yang sedang mendominasi, kurangnya perbedaan dengan pusat perbelanjaan yang lain, serta adanya lahan kosong di tapak yang tidak difungsikan secara efektif. Sehingga dampak yang didapat yaitu Mall Metropolis Town Square penurunan daya tarik serta pengunjung yang datang dan mengakibatkan banyak fasilitas dalam mall yang tidak lagi difungsikan atau tutup. Oleh karena ini, penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan sebuah intervensi untuk menghidupkan kembali, memaksimalkan potensi yang dimiliki tapak dan menjadikan lokasi tersebut kembali menjadi place. Strategi yang dapat diimplementasikan yaitu menganalisis sasaran pengguna di sekitar tapak, menggunakan pendekatan dan metode arsitektur, serta mengedepankan keberlanjutan agar bangunan dapat bertahan dalam jangka waktu yang panjang. Melalui pendekatan arsitektur kontekstual menghasilkan proyek berupa pusat olahraga dengan memanfaatkan lahan kosong di tapak untuk difungsikan lebih efektif. Usulan perancangan yang dihasilkan tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadikan Mall Metropolis Town Square kembali menjadi place. ]]>
