Abstract

This study examines the implementation of corporate social responsibility through the Livelihood Restoration Program (LRP) by Institution X. The study employs a qualitative approach with descriptive research methodology. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews and literature review. The study is motivated by land acquisition conducted by PT Y, which affected the livelihoods of the local community. Consequently, PT Y initiated livelihood restoration for the affected community through the LRP managed by Institution X. The findings indicate that Institution X has two primary roles: providing consultancy services and facilitating the implementation of the LRP. First, as a consultancy agency, Institution X offers inputs and recommendations to PT Y, including steps and strategies for managing the affected community's livelihoods. Second, in facilitating the LRP, Institution X undertakes several stages, starting with (a) the preparation stage, which involves team formation, validation of assessment reports, and planning design during the accompaniment period, institution establishment, and outcome evaluation processes; (b) the validation (assessment) stage, where Institution X deploys social experts and planners to assess the community's livelihood conditions; (c) the implementation stage, where Institution X focuses on developing local potentials and the economic conditions of Project Affected Persons (PAPs) through interventions such as training and entrepreneurship awareness; (d) the reporting stage, where Institution X prepares reports as an accountability measure for the LRP implementation to PT Y; and (e) the evaluation stage, where Institution X measures the success of the LRP's planning and implementation for the affected community.

Abstract

Green jobs have become a new trend in recent years, as they are needed by various industrial sectors. Regulatory support is a key aspect in mainstreaming green jobs. Green jobs are typically associated with occupations that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment, both in traditional sectors such as manufacturing and construction, as well as in emerging green sectors like renewable energy and energy efficiency. This research aims to describe the regulatory framework in the development of green jobs in Indonesia. It is a descriptive qualitative study that primarily relies on secondary data, reviewing regulations related to green jobs. Additionally, this research is supplemented by other literature sources such as journal articles, books, institutional publications, and websites. The results show that there is no specific and integrated regulation in Indonesia for the development of green jobs. Furthermore, policy implementation largely focuses on the integration of environmental issues in general and is predominantly driven by the central government, with a top-down approach. The recommendation of this research emphasizes the importance of having specific and targeted regulations that include standards related to green jobs. Moreover, it calls for a policy framework that is not only top-down oriented but also incorporates a bottom-up approach to foster more inclusive collaboration between various stakeholders, both state and non-state actors, in promoting green job sectors across Indonesia.

Abstract

As an environmental issues enthusiast and tech-savvy generation, Gen Z is poised to benefit from green and digital transitions by utilizing AI in their preferred green jobs. This study uses a qualitative approach to describe Gen Z's readiness to use AI in green jobs based on the Readiness for Organizational Change theory. The study employed purposive sampling to interview 19 Gen Z employees in green jobs (academia, business, community, and public sectors), supported with literature reviews. The research examines readiness through four key aspects: appropriateness, management support, change efficacy, and personal valence. It also analyzes Gen Z’s perceptions of AI’s importance, benefits, uses, and the challenges in the application. The findings show that Gen Z employees view AI as essential for enhancing work efficiency and productivity, though they face some challenges. Various organizational approaches to AI adoption highlight that AI integration is not just technological, but also cultural. This research offers insights for organizations to create an enabling environment to use AI effectively. Furthermore, this study encourages the organization’s management to gain a deeper understanding of Gen Z employees’ application of AI in green jobs to support their workforce in adapting to technological advancements.
