Abstract

Seaweed cultivation in the marine waters of Banli, OP Village, Nunkolo District, South Central Timor Regency, has never been carried out by residents of the area. This cultivation activity is to provide new jobs for the Banli Jaya fishing group in particular and it is hoped that later this group will share with other residents. This activity is also a solution for residents whose livelihoods only choose beach pebbles to sell, which in the long term will damage coastal construction which can later lead to coastal degradation and erosion.This activity is intended to train the community so that they know how to cultivate seaweed. This will be a new source of livelihood for the Banli Jaya group in particular and the population in general.Although Banli Waters is located in the South Coast region which is known for strong currents, the timing of cultivation is an important point that must be considered. The timing of June to December is the right time because in this season the southern waters are relatively calm. The Community Service Activities (PKM) for Red Algae Cultivation Kappaphycus alvarezii were carried out well, where the red algae cultivated grew well.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai hubungan kerapatan mangrove terhadap laju transpor sedimen di kawasan ekowisata mangrove kelurahan Oesapa Barat telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juni 2022. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kerapatan mangrove terhadap laju transpor sedimen menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada dua stasiun yang mewakili kerapatan tinggi dan kerapatan rendah. Setiap stasiun memiliki tiga transek dan sembilan plot pengamatan dengan ukuran plot 2x2 meter untuk semai, 5x5 meter untuk pancang dan 10x10 meter untuk pohon. Hasil identifikasi pada lokasi pengamatan menemukan empat jenis mangrove, yaitu Avicennia alba dari famili Avicenniaceae, Lumnitzera racemosa dari famili Combretaceae, Rhizopora mucronata dari famili Rhizoporaceae dan Sonneratia alba dari famili Sonneratiaceae. Kerapatan pada stasiun 1 sebesar 355,56 ind/ha memiliki laju transpor sedimen sebesar 0,0114 gbk/cm²/hari, sedangkan pada stasiun 2 nilai kerapatan sebesar 266,66 ind/ha dengan laju transpor sedimen 0,0230 gbk/cm²/hari. Hasil analisis Pearson untuk hubungan kerapatan mangrove terhadap laju transpor sedimen senilai -1 yang berarti kerapatan yang semakin tinggi menyebabkan laju transpor semakin rendah dan sebaliknya.
