<![CDATA[Background: Oral and dental health maintenance behavior in children with special needs is very poor, most children with special needs must be assisted in brushing their teeth and mouth so that AKB children can do it correctly and appropriately. Children are at an age vulnerable to dental and oral diseases and still need help from parents and families to guide them in maintaining dental and oral hygiene as well as children with special needs who have a very high risk of dental and oral hygiene problems. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of brushing teeth in parents of students at SLBN Muaro Jambi. Method: This activity includes counseling activities to improve knowledge about dental and oral health using questionnaire measuring instruments and tooth brushing method ovaluation. Results: The average score of the knowledge questionnaire about dental and oral health during the pre-test was 10 questions correctly and got an average score of 55. After getting counseling, it increased, with an average of parents answering 17 questions correctly and getting an average score of 94. The results of the paired difference test on parental knowledge about dental health showed a p-value of 0.000. The results of the paired difference test on parents' tooth brushing skills showed a p-value of 0.000 with an average tooth brushing skill score before being given counseling of 53.6 and after being given counseling it increased to 94..]]>
