Abstract

Abstract: Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat (YPAC) Surabaya is an educational facility for children with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a permanent disorder that attacks their brain and affects the motor system, causing limited activity and dependence on the help of other individuals. For now, the number of cerebral palsy is increasing, so that standards for educational need to be considered. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research completeness of facilities and accessibility at YPAC Surabaya. The research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive method, by conducting a literature search, field observations, facility measurements, and interviews with an inclusive architecture. Inclusive architecture’s aspect, involve equality, accessibility, flexibility, measurability, and ease of understanding. The results showed that YPAC Surabaya has several facilities that are suitable and several facilities that require improvement and need to be improved, such as ramps, toilets, signs that aren’t accordance with inclusive architecture standards. This research emphasizes the importance of implementing inclusive architecture to create more inclusive and usable learning environment for people with cerebal palsy. With the results of this evaluation, it is expected to improve the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy, so as to achieve equality, ease of access, comfort, and safety for users. Keyword: Cerebral Palsy, Inclusive Architecture Abstrak: Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat (YPAC) Surabaya merupakan fasilitas pendidikan bagi anak-anak penyandang cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy merupakan gangguan permanen yang menyerang otak dan berpengaruh pada sistem motoriknya sehingga menyebabkan keterbatasan aktivitasnya dan bergantung pada bantuan individu lain. Saat ini, jumlah penyandang cerebral palsy semakin meningkat sehingga standar terhadap kebutuhan pendidikan juga perlu diperhatikan. Maka, perlunya penelitian terhadap fasilitas dan aksesibilitas pada YPAC Surabaya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan melakukan pencarian studi litelatur, observasi lapangan, pengukuran fasilitas, dan wawancara terhadap pengajar dan kepala sekolah YPAC Surabaya dengan pendekatan inclusive architecture. Aspek inclusive architecture, yaitu kesetaraan, aksesibilitas, fleksibilitas, keterukuran, dan kemudahan pemahaman. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa YPAC Surabaya memiliki beberapa fasilitas yang sesuai dan memerlukan perbaikan dan perlu ditingkatkan, seperti ramp, toilet, rambu pemandu yang masih belum sesuai dengan standar inclusive architecture. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penerapan inclusive architecture untuk mewujudkan lingkup belajar yang lebih inklusif dan dapat digunakan bagi penyandang cerebal palsy. Dengan hasil evaluasi ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup anak-anak cerebral palsy, sehingga dapat mencapai kesetaran, kemudahan, kenyamanan, dan keamanan.
