<![CDATA[Abstrak Debat merupakan suatu bentuk retorika atau berupa seni penggunaan bahasa secara efektif. Penggunaan bahasa yang dimaksud yakni peserta debat harus mampu merancang dan menyusun penyampaian pesan yang jelas, tepat, dan bermakna kepada para audiens. Dalam debat biasanya pesan yang disampaikan dapat berupa program-program kerja yang dibuat semenarik dan seringkas mungkin guna untuk menarik perhatian masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui penggunaan abreviasi dengan jenis kontraksi pada penyampaian program kerja dalam debat Calon Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Jawa Barat 2024. Metode yang digunakan yakni penelitian kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini yakni ditemukan adanya penggunaan abreviasi berjenis kontraksi dalam penyampaian program kerja pada tiga kali debat. Debat pertama ditemukan abreviasi dalam penyampaian program kerja paslon nomor satu yakni Program “Rungkad Care” dan paslon nomor dua yakni Program “Seblak”. Debat kedua ditemukan abreviasi dalam penyampaian program keja paslon nomor satu yakni Program “Jayanti”. Terakhir debat ketiga ditemukan abreviasi dalam penyampaian program kerja paslon nomor satu yakni Program “Magadir”. Program kerja yang disampaikan oleh para paslon merupakan penggunaan abreviasi jenis kontraksi yang mana program kerja dibuat dengan proses pemendekan kata dengan cara merangkum atau mengombinasikan leksem yang diutarakan seperti pada kata yang mematuhi aturan fonologis. The use of language in question is that debate participants must be able to design and compose a clear, precise, and meaningful message to the audience. In a debate, the message conveyed can usually be in the form of work programs that are made as interesting and concise as possible in order to attract public attention. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of abbreviations with contraction types in the delivery of work programs in the debate of the 2024 West Java Governor and Deputy Governor Candidates. The method used was qualitative research. The results of this study were found to be the use of abbreviations of the contraction type in the delivery of work programs in three debates. The first debate found abbreviations in the delivery of the work program of candidate pair number one, namely the "Rungkad Care" Program and candidate pair number two, namely the "Seblak" Program. The second debate found abbreviations in the delivery of the work program of candidate pair number one, namely the "Jayanti" Program. Finally, the third debate found abbreviations in the delivery of the work program of candidate pair number one, namely the "Magadir" Program. The work program submitted by the candidate pairs is the use of a contraction type abbreviation, where the work program is made through a process of shortening words by summarizing or combining the lexemes expressed as in words that comply with phonological rules.
